I just saw Brasco as well. It was good - though perhaps hemmed in by the non-fiction nature of the movie.
Gangster movies always fixate on the top guys, rarely the muscle, the grunts. It had a great Loman-esque quality to it.

I watched that last night. And I agree. I do like Clifton Collins, Jr., though and always like when he shows up in something.

Mike Stuhlbarg was great in "A Serious Man."

clifton collins was, indeed, another ray of sunshine. conveys much without trying.

and i'm so excited for mike. this is kind of his coming-out party, much like chris waltz in inglorious basterds. a serious man isn't playing near here yet. might have to choo-choo to nyc next monday to see it.

    "A Serious Man"

Still digesting it(s meaning). I liked it, but I acknowledge too that it was an extremely strange and in many ways off-putting movie. It was disturbing and hilarious. Its worldview (filmview?) was fatalistic. It was about banality (I think). And Jews.

Also the second time the Coen brothers have crafted an utterly brilliant ending to a movie . (No Country being the first).

Outpost - Nazi Zombies. Again. First hour is pretty damn creepy, but then it basically goes to shit.

I just watched Religulous, as a huge Bill Maher fan I loved it.

  9. Yea, I'll third this thought. Maybe rental material, but you'll likely get a "meh" from those who watch it.

I definitely laughed a good bit during the movie. And I'm not bitter about spending $21 to see it. It just wasn't what I'd call a great comedy. Decent, though.

Beer League. Funny ass movie about North Jersey softball. Ralph Macchio is featured in it.
