Saw "Precious" today. More than lived up to any hype. Great story, fabulous actresses. Probably my #1 movie this year.

A great end of the world movie is "On The Beach" with Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins. It's about how people in Australia deal with final months of life following a nuclear war. They essentially are waiting for the fallout cloud to reach them.

I saw that in the theater, by myself (my man card is in the mail) I really enjoyed it.

I finally saw Juno the other night. It was really funny and lightened my mood.

HC, you and I have such similar taste in movies and TV shows. I saw "Precious" earlier in the week and couldn't agree more. I was a little afraid to see it, because I knew it would be harrowing (and it was) and because the trailer made me cry. I'm glad I went to see it, though and like you, it's my #1 movie of the year (so far).

Well I saw it just a few days after the Fort Hood shooting. Remember the naked soldier?

Jennifer's Body - Better than Juno mostly because it doesn't go as overboard (it's still ridiculous though) with the pop culture name drops. And dare I say it, it was scary at times.

Deadgirl - I didn't get to finish it because the disc had something wrong with it, but definitely a strong, explicit and terrifying entry into the zombie genre.

Zombieland - What a crock. Who knew a zombie apocalypse could be so emo?

I added this to my Netflix queue based on your suggestion. I'll letcha know if I like it.

BTW, I spent the majority of last night analyzing 2012 in my head and trying to figure out how'd we all act if it actually happened. Needless to say, I don't want to find out.

Uh ... wait, what? I think you might be the only person in America with that opinion.

I saw it in Dallas a few hours after the shooting. You could've heard a pin drop during that scene.

Old Boy. Watched dubbed, though, and now I want to go back and see it with subtitles instead.

Juno was ear-gougingly painful. No teenagers in the history of the universe speak in the way Diablo Cody wants them to. The film might as well have been a Lord of the Rings movie because that world only exists in one's imagination.

Jennifer's Body on the other hand is in fact fantasy and is treated as such. That I can be comfortable with.

One of my top ten films of the decade.
