I watched the hangover today. Still awesome, although I think they did a nice job with editing the theatrical version. The extra scenes in the unrated version were ho-hum and seemed to disrupt the flow of the movie.

Ryan Reynolds is pretty good. He needs to be in more movies.

Haven't seen Bride Wars, but did see Hudson in Fools Gold, which got panned universally, but which I thought was enjoyable. Actually, it might be the first time I've seen Hudson in a movie. She's OK, but McConaughey was much better.

    Just watched Gigantic.

    Eh.
The characters were compelling, but there were major head-scratchers in the story, and then it just ended without 'splainin them. Could have been an 'over my head' thing, but I sincerely doubt it.

To be fair, expectations were low. The best critical acclaim they had to put on the back of the box was "3.5 stars" by the NY Post. Only picked it up because I'm pretty fond of Zooey Deschanel (or something similar).

Watched Obsessed today (Hey, I was bored!). Idris Elba needs to keep the Stringer goatee or else he looks more like Beyonce's dad than her hubby.

Either way, dreadfully bad, and not in an overly enjoyable way.

Total cringefest. But, nice pull for remembering it.

Every night before he goes to bed, Neeson should give thanks to God for allowing him to still have a career after that stink bomb.

I've watched several recently. The one that stood out most was Away We Go. I was envious (especially recently) of their ability to just pick up and pick a place anywhere to live.

Brothers (the Danish version) - I was expecting something great since they remade it for American audiences, but no. It's a steaming pile. Edited like a Lifetime original movie it centered around a laughable scenario where a Danish soldier is held as a prisoner of war by the Taliban. Ummm..yeah how many people - let alone Danish troops - were POWs in this conflict again? And I was under the impression by the previews of the American film that the story included the brother banging the wife while he was away. Um...no. He kissed her once, briefly at a party. So lame.

Taken was good. I wouldn't say Neeson was brilliant, but he was good. Boilerplate revenge motif with a twist.

Last movie for me: Funny People. Overall, pretty decent. Lotta feelings involved. Some of the jokes were funny. Leslie Mann was smokin. Some heavily sad undercurrents.

Still want to see this. I've heard mixed results, and no in between. People really like it or really hate it.

If they woulda shaved 30 minutes off, it would have been a GREAT movie.

I'm in the really like it camp. Sure, you could've shaved a few moments here and there, but the length didn't bug me; I didn't leave thinking, "Damn, that was entirely too long -- how much better could it have been had it been shaved by 30 minutes?

Me, too. I was really surprised I liked it as much as I did. It's likely on my top 10 list for the year.
