The Queen and I watched Taken and He's Not That Into You this weekend.
Taken was ridiculous. Way too predictable, just a lot of shoot 'em up. How did they get off the boat?
He's Not That Into You was cute, enjoyable.

I can't remember the last movie I watched before these. I'm not even sure what I have here from Netflix.

GF had me put 'The Rose' in our Netfelix queu.
Perfect timing. It arrived Friday, and I left Friday night for a weekend poker trip.
I came home last night, and she hadn't watched it while I was away.

    Saw "The Messenger"

Really powerful stuff. One of the best films of the year.

Inglorious Basterds. On mine and Mrs. Sneed's early Christmas present from the in-laws, a gorgeous new LCD TV. You haven't seen BJ Novak scalp a Nazi until you've seen it on something that clear. Wow.

Rent "My Life as a House," starring Kevin Kline, someday. It's awful, but there's gratuitous Steenbergen throughout.

My graphic designer just tried to sell me on 'Avatar.'

Over the weekend caught a few:

"World's Greatest Dad" with Robin Williams - Latest Bobcat Goldthwait movie. If you happened to catch "Sleeping Dogs Lie" and liked it, you'll like this. Pretty dark humor and a surprisingly (almost) uplifting story. Indie movie that flew under the radar. I really liked it.

"The Unborn" - Was curious because it was written/directed by David S. Goyer and produced by Bryan Fuller (and Michael Bay...). While it's nothing special from the horror genre, it was definitely better than I thought it would be.

"Audition" - Japanese thriller/horrorish. Also very good. People compare to "Saw" and other toture-porn movies, but this one isn't anywhere as bad as those are. It uses only a few grossout scenes (guy eats vomit, foot cut off), but they advance the plot rather than just for shits and giggles.

Tried to watch Perfect Strangers the other night. We made it about halfway through before bailing. Just turrrrible.

The Bruce Willis-Halle Berry movie or the Balki 80s TV series?

Saw Invictus the other night. Good film, Matt Damon was great (as usual) and Freeman was pretty good.
