Completely agree. First half of "Invention of Lying" were fantastic.

If you catch advertisements on any Pay-Per-View channel around me, the entire ad campaign for that movie is based around Kristen Stewart. No mention of any other actor by name, one shot of Jesse Eisenberg saying one sentence, I believe. I realize it's because she's the biggest name right now thanks to Twilight (Sorry Ryan Reynolds), but come on.

    Taking Chance.

Kevin Bacon stars as a Marine officer who escorts a soldier to his final resting place.

    Very powerful movie.

Watched "Hostage," with Bruce Willis and Kevin Pollack today. Interesting idea, decent set-up and then a totally implausible finish ... sort of like every Willis action flick since the first Die Hard.

His last episode of Extras ranks in my top five of final episodes of a series.... with Freaks and Geeks, Newhart, Six Feet Under and M*A*S*H

Just finished Choke, second time I've seen it. I still love it. It's very underrated. Sam Rockwell has that "it factor" that Downey Jr, Clooney, et al have, but in smaller quantity. I can't wait to see Moon.

    I think Downey has that.

    Never thought that about Clooney.

I caught an advance screening of this. Kevin Bacon gives a very subdued performance. Political agenda is near non-existant. Because of the subject matter "enjoy" isn't exactly the right choice of words. But I found this movie far more intriguing than I imagined I would. I believe it's now available for viewing on HBO On-Demand. If you have the opportunity to see it please do.

I saw [t]It's Complicated[/i] a couple of nights ago. Streep thinks she's still in Mamma Mia [though, thankfully, she doesn't sing] and Baldwin is pretty much playing Jack Donaghy [minus extremely quotable lines]. And Martin, hmm...I'm not sure why he's there. I don't think he knows why he's there. Maybe the balloon payment on the house is due. John Krasinski has a supporting role and seemed to make the most of the hackneyed material he'd been given.

One of my favorite books and one of the best movies I saw in 2008. Rockwell is terribly underrated. They need to make more Pahlaniuk books into movies.

I don't think Choke was ever released in theaters.

We watched Invictus and The Invention of Lying last night while I was home sick with a small flu bug. Thought Invictus was really good although Damon's accent was awful and Freeman's not much better. But the story is wonderful. Have no idea why I didn't know about all that going on when it was although I think I blame being immersed in covering college basketball.

I thought Streep was superb in Julie and Julia and again, I thought the story was cute.
