Snow Angels. Some Sundance-type movie about relationships in a small town.

    The Invasion (Kidman/Craig).

    Nose-picking tripe . . . 99 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

I thought that was really well done, but man, was that a depressing flick.

It did have only a minimum of unnecessarily quirky small-movie moments, and it was kind of a downer, but the relationship between the teens was affirming.

Haha. Me too! I also walk around saying "Eeeev-aaa." I've watched this movie 4 times since it came out on DVD. I bought it for my nephews and youngest son, too. Love it. It does kinda go downhill once the humans show up tho.

Just watched Pineapple Express. Had a few decent laughs but nothing like Superbad and Knocked Up.

Saw The Wrestler last night. Rourke was great. So was Marisa Tomei. So was the criminally underrated Evan Rachel Wood.

I have an issue with Rourke, though, the same one I have with Stallone.

If you have a "slow" aura, and you play a "slow" guy well, are you a great actor?

Haven't seen The Wrestler yet, so to those who have, my pivotal relevant question remains:

Can you envision ANYONE other than Rourke playing the lead? Or is the
film's success entirely dependant on MR?

Saw Pineapple Express. I put it behind Knocked Up (less heart) but eons ahead of Superbad (worst movie I saw that year).

I laughed out loud several times.

I saw Milk last night. While I had some issues with the movie (especially the development of the secondary characters), Sean Penn was amazing. He completely fell into the role and became Harvey Milk.

I think that's probably two different questions.

I'd have to say the film's success is indeed entirely dependent on Rourke ... and Tomei.

As storylines go, I can't say that anything left my mouth hanging open.

But ... could I see, say, a latter-years Marlon Brando playing this role? Sure could. A 62-year-old Benicio Del Toro? You betcha.
