Sin City had some characters you could root for, and was delighted to do so.
    Jessica Alba didn't hurt, either.

Second dose, next year. Looking forward to it.

Tiptoes. Terrible movie, but Kate Beckinsale remains flawless.

I just watched the end of McCabe and Mrs. Miller. Looks colder there than it is here right now.

This Is Not A Film. Cute little indie flick about revisiting a relationship, seeing through another person's eyes all the missteps you made, and coming to a realization that maybe things weren't how you thought they were at all.

    I liked it a lot.

Highway. Even Jake Gyllenhaal and Jared Leto when he was hot couldn't save that thing.

Watch the whole thing next time, Bubs.

The quiet film that Deadwood assumes you've already seen.

Fear. Stupid ripoff of Fatal Attraction/Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Early Mark Wahlberg starring vehicle. A movie Reese Witherspoon surely won't list on her resume.

It's one of those bad movies I find oddly compelling. I've probably seen it 10 times, for no good reason.

Watching "Leaving Las Vegas" right now. Someday I want to watch it really hammered, because it seems like that's the way it was meant to be seen. It would be like watching "Dazed and Confused" while high or "Sid and Nancy" while on heroin. Or maybe "Schindler's List" while Nazis are trying to kill you.

just got done with a great double feature of "Little Children" and "Nobody's Fool." NF was recommended after Newman died, and I never got around to it, when it first came out. A phenomenal movie. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but more like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a chilly day. Great cast. Phil Hoffman, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith, Dylan Walsh, and many others spending the holidays in upstate New York, where Newman tries to reconnect with his son and grandson. It's kind of like one of the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies, but with a dose of nudity and profanity
Little Children is also exceptional if you haven't seen it. Kind of like The Ice Storm. Kate Winslet if fantastic as is Jackie Earl Haley as a convicted flasher. Really good stuff from the director of "In The Bedroom," who also happened to have played one of the storm chasers in Twister.

Is that on instant on Netflix? Sounds interesting.

Day of the Dead coming in the mail tomorrow! Joy! I should really move Cannibal Holocaust to the top of my queue. :)

I watched The Promotion last night. It came out to little notice last year, and it really fell flat for me. Despite a very impressive cast of comedy vets (Seann William Scott, John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Jason Bateman, Fred Armisen), it's essentially a depressing bore with an abysmal script.
