It is instant. I watch most of the movies I watch now on instant.

    Check it out.

Caught a cool little flick on Encore Mystery late last night called "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon".
It was kind of a tongue-in-cheek horror movie along the lines of Scream. Basically, the first half is a faux documentary about this guy who is the latest in a family of slashers. It follows him as he sets up his killing spree, going through everything from picking out the group of kids he's going to kill, how he sets up the house and the scene, and some interviews with his proud parents. Funny stuff, but the last 30 minutes or so is more genuine slasher flick.

That movie got major pub and great reviews on Bloody Disgusting when it first came out. I've been meaning to catch it, but haven't got a chance yet. Glad to see it's made its way to the pay channels now. I'll have to look for it.

Movie house here had an advanced screening of Notorious at midnight this morning, I went with a buddy from work. Blech!! Only good thing about the film is Anthony MacKie as Pac. The dude who played Biggie was ok. Overall not a very good film.

After owning the DVD for a few years, I finally watched "The Passion of the Christ" the other day. It was riveting, particularly the scourging scene.

I found it hard to take this movie seriously when I found out that P. Diddy was one of the guys in charge.

    No way it's objective.

But hey, when they finally do get around to making this a real flick, I'll be there with bells on. The BIG-Tupac feud/murders have always captivated me.

Mackie was great as Pac, and if they ever did a movie about the Pac/Big feud he would be a great choice to play the role again. He is a pretty talented actor and I can't imagine playing Pac is easy.

I was surprised they didn't have Puff play himself, but my buddy mentioned why would Puff wanna relive all that. My thought was he has made a whole career off of his "grief", what is to stop him now?

    Bigger, Stronger, Faster

Chris Bell puts together one HELL of a film on a zip budget

Some very tough discussions with his family. His dad, resigned to one son's fate, mournfully and softly intones of son Mike that "I think they are going to find him dead someday".

A year and change later, Mike is dead.

Great Schwarzenegger stuff... Good Olympic coverage....

Wonderful film.... I highly recommend it.

Last House on the Left. It was on a free On Demand channel and I hadn't seen it in years. I forgot how truly disgusting and disturbing this movie was. Why I've now watched this film more than once is beyond me, but it's tough to turn away. Kind of a depressing statement on what some parts of the human race is capable of.

"You, Me and Dupree," on TBS. I had no interest in watching it - even sent back the Netflix copy without watching it - but then I saw Seth Rogen in one of the opening scenes and I had to watch it. The ending is both sweet and hilarious.

Damn you. Now I have to watch Owen Wilson, which I try never to do. :D

Yeah, I saw that again a couple of years ago. People who think the recent wave of "turture porn" movies is something new, try to sit through Last House on the Left. I like a lot of Craven's stuff, but I don't think this is entertaining at all, just made for shock value.

Remake coming later this year, too.
