Chris Rock's sort-of documentary, "Good Hair." My mom saw it in a theatre and shrugged. I laughed a lot, particularly at the scenes when both men in a barbershop and (mostly famous) women were agreeing about not touching the weave.

I had no idea so much fake hair came from India.

I think I'm the only person who liked Burn After Reading. In fact my FIL just gave me a bootlegged copy yesterday (probably because he couldn't give it away to anybody else).

Absolutely hated it. Love the Coens, love the actors in it, wanted to like it so much, but I just thought it was crap. Maybe I need to give it another chance and there was more there than I saw the first time.

I liked it. Not sure I'd make the effort to watch it again, but I like it.

Last I watched: This weekend I caught Date Night at the theatre and Crazy Heart on DVD.

Date Night: Predictable. Had its funny moments. I'm developing an inexplicable crush on Tina Fey. Haven't seen Steve Carell in anything I haven't enjoyed.

Crazy Heart: Depressing and predictable. The music was good and I seriously dig Maggie Gyllenhaal, but the rave reviews oversold it. Jeff Bridges was good, but to me it was kind of the darker country and western side of Jeff Lebowski.

Saw Kick Ass over the weekend and enjoyed the hell outta it. My expectations were very low and the movie exceeded them. A solid B. Hitgirl was the shizz.

Finally. I saw it last week and expected a number of members to have also watched it. It was great but they toned it down a bit from the comic. Still pretty solid.

I was talking to a friend who is a movie critic, and he recommended 'Kick Ass.'
    I haven't watched it yet.

In a related note, we were talking before a screening of 'My Neighbor Totoro' on campus.
Wow, I loved that movie. It was fantastic.

Saw Date Night. Not bad, but was expecting a little bit more considering Carell and Fey are in it.

Finally got around to watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull the other night. It could never have lived up to the original three films, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

More movies I've seen in the last two weeks or so ...

RocknRolla - typical Guy Ritchie movie. I liked it better than Sherlock Holmes. Great cast.

Duplicity - decent, but not great. Clive Owen is a movie star.

Towelhead - The movie's definitely not a feel-good movie, but I liked it a lot. Very well done. The main character's parents drove me crazy, especially the mother played by Maria Bello. I'm interested to see Summer Bishil, who played the lead role, in more stuff. She's beautiful and played the role very well.

Four Christmases - Liked it better than I thought I would. Laughed a few times. I'm doomed to watch Vince Vaughn in anything. That's why Couple Retreat is probably in my future at some point.

I actually watched Couples Retreat against my will for the second time recently.

The first time I saw it, I fucking hated it.

The second time I saw it, it wasn't as bad as I remembered.

    Forgot.....

Monsters vs. Aliens. Pretty good for an animated movie, but I lost interest during the last 30 minutes. Good collection of actors supplying the voices.
