I have now watched all four 'Phantasm' movies in a week.
I'm still not sure what was going on. I'm still not sure why I liked them.
And I have a nagging desire to smoke pot and watched them again.

LOVE this movie. Seen it dozen or so times. Some of the Coen Brothers' best work.

    Timeline. Meh.

I just had to look, having read the book.

Fiancee and I watched "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" tonight.

Considering I absolutely hate Sarah Jessica Parker and am only so-so about Hugh Grant, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

I will say this though. First, the trailer for this movie was actually quite funny, a bit more so than the movie, and unfortunately showed almost all the best parts. Second, the big final scene at the rodeo was, quite possibly, some of the worst writing I've ever seen. The dialogue was dreadful and unbelievable and it really took away from what should have been a solid scene.

Other than that, though, I've got no complaints. Good date night movie but not something to own and watch more than once.

agree with your take on hurt locker. was wondering if it was hyped too much (by people here and others i talked to not by MSM) because i thought it was good, solid, but not great.

Following a conversation with a buddy that centered in part on So I Married an Axe Murderer, I watched it on demand yesterday. Not quality filmmaking, but a guilty pleasure. I can get main character's dad out of my head.

    Shut It!

    We've got a piper down.

And Nancy Travis ... hubba hubba. She looks like a white Whitney Houston in this movie.

We went to "Clash of the Titans" in 3-D. Better than I thought. We seem to be on a 3-D kick right now. I still think Alice in Wonderland did the most with the 3-D technology of what we've seen so far. But I'm intrigued by it. Hope they do more movies in 3-D. I'm thinking they well with the advent of the 3-D TVs and Blu-Ray disc players.

    Pineapple Express.

I don't mind some stoner business, but this was two-plus hours
    wasted on benighted tripe.

Caught a bit of Episode Two on Spike last night and decided to go and watch all three Star Wars prequels.

Man, am I glad I did. They were about 1,000 times better than I remember and, as much as I hate Lucas, very well done.

I get why people hated them, they could never have lived up to the hype of the original trilogy but, damn, those flicks are great.

Loved Episode One because it was nice to see the pieces start to fall in place for Anakin to become a Jedi and the Republic's army to be built.

Loved Episode Two for the evolution of Anakin into a torn figure and as much as his love of Padme was botched, I could at least understand why he felt the way he did. Also, Yoda fighting=awesome.

Liked Episode Three a lot less than when I saw it in theaters. Still the most action packed of the new trilogy and does an absolutely terrific job of bridging the two trilogies but I felt they really rushed the Anakin turn to the Dark Side and the dialogue between he and Padme was absolutely dreadful.

Gonna have a busy couple of days workwise but I plan on watching the Original Trilogy very soon to see how much I liked it in the grand scheme of actually understanding the Prequels, which I didn't last time because I was too busy looking for a reason to hate them.

  10. That whole movie is great.
The dad is awesome... The KFC rant .

  11. Smokin' Aces.
I saw the last 30 minutes of it on TV a few weeks ago and we intrigued, so I Netflixed it.
While I enjoyed the movie, the parts I saw on TV- the last 30 minutes - was pretty much the best part of the whole thing. Not a lot of action up until then, just some build up.

    Still, I liked it.

Saw "Death at a Funeral" last night. Pretty damn hilarious and entertaining. 7.5/10.
