I realize I'm probably behind the times with this one but I watched "The Mist" today and, god damn, what a creepy movie.

I had the ending ruined a bit by me (I.E. I knew about the things that roll in at the close of the film) so that kind of messed up my viewing experience but interesting movie nonetheless.

Don't know who the lead actor was, though, and whoever it is that dude does not know how to sell emotion whatsoever.

In the final big scene, I couldn't help but laugh at how terrible he was.

Worth a look though if you like cabin fever-type flicks. Could have done without all the God talk but, hey, it makes sense given the context of the flick.

Finally watched Crazy Heart. Pretty powerful movie. Never was a big Maggie Gyllenhaal fan, but she was fantastic here. Jeff Bridges seemed tailor made to play Bad.

Problem with that movie was always Grodin. Makes the skin of many a citizen crawl, including moi.

  4. Finally Got Inglorious Basterds.
    What a fucking disappointment.

Brad Pitt and the Basterds had what 20 minutes of screen time? With little to no backstory?
It was a shitty version of the Great Escape or the Dirty Dozen.
I know Tarantino likes dialogue - I was expecting a LOT more action (you know, Nazi ass-kicking!) and was roundly disappointed - but shit, he could have cut the film down by 40 minutes.
He tried to throw too much into the movie (the Jew Hunter, the cinema chick, Zoller, the double agent) and failed to deliver on the main course (the Basterds).

    VERY disappointed.

Iron Man. Very entertaining. Drunk superhero; bad-ass, tattoed physicist, Bill O'Reilly. Movie had it all.

I got that one on DVR, too. If the wife were out of town for TWO days instead of one, I might have time to watch that one as well.

Excitedly awaiting the Karate Kid reviews. I'll probably go see it tomorrow.

I've heard a lot of people who have loved the flick. Still not interested, though I heard Smith's kid does pretty good.

I'm excited as hell for Toy Story 3, however.

You have to admit there's a little quiver of anticipation, waiting
    for Simmons to weigh in.
