I'm excited for Toy Story 3. Having said that, watched Valentine's Day the other night with my lady friend and well, yeah. Now I know why it had a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I just finishing up watching "Save the Last Dance"

I think that in this movie there are actually some points when Julia Stiles is relatively hot.

    Emphasis on some.....

Yeah, she's on odd one. But she seems rather smart, so that might add to whatever charm she possesses. Most of her dance sequences were pretty laughable, though.

I'm not very good at dancing, so I can speak to the authenticity of the dance sequences, all I can say is that the soundtrack is pretty good and, well, like I said there are some - emphasis on some -- scenes where I look at her and say "yeah, I'd hit it...."

Valentine's Day made me want to slit my wrists with a Werther's Original.

Perhaps the one scene where she is wearing glasses - she made me think of that one web-site about bookworm bitches or something.....

Absolutely. One of my favourite movies.

"I'll send you home with a 'I just pumped the neighbour's cat' look on your face."

And Clint's quick two-part dismantling of the bald fuckwad in jail sets a wonderful tone for the rest of the film. Highly recommended.

    Finally watched "Revolutionary Road."

Not a movie for newlyweds to watch if they believe in the idea of marital bliss.

If we're going to get technical about trilogies, then the LOTR franchise is the only true American movie trilogy.

Que? You mean the trilogy filmed in New Zealand, directed by a Kiwi, based on a series of novels written by an English author and starring mostly foreign actors is the only true AMERICAN film trilogy? :)

On another note, I watched The Hurt Locker last night. Excellent movie and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best Picture/director, though? It didn't really do anything new for the genre and while there were some outstanding visuals, it didn't really compare to Avatar, which I thought moved the medium forward.
