A star parade, with all the substance of Tiki Barber.

Just watched Rookie of the Year. Man, that Phil Brickma is a great character.

They're going to learn the truth eventually. Might as well rip the band-aid off quickly.

That movie was worth watching for Michael Shannon's performance alone as Kathy Bates' crazy son. He's supposed to have a major role in "Boardwalk Empire," the upcoming HBO series about the early days of Atlantic City, which is being produced by Sopranos veteran Terence Winter.

Requiem for a Dream. Dear God, that was depressing. But Ellen Burstyn was, indeed, brilliant.

I don't know why, but I always thought Tolkien was Russian. Learn something new every day.

Not sure it counts — hell, it's a filmed production of a West End play airing on PBS — but it's just under three hours, so I'm throwing it in. Just finished watching "Hamlet" on "Great Performances." Holy shit. I went into it thinking it was going to be good, but not that good.

David Tennant is Dr. Who, not Hamlet! Uh, wrong. He fucking knocked that out of the park. I honestly don't think stage productions will never cut it for me ever again. The way they filmed it, giving it those close-in, personal acting choices even more stark just lent so much more to Tennant's performance.

"To be or not to be" was just perfectly done, where I've seen sooooo many swerve to the melodramatic (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Jude Law). Tennant feigning madness was well done. The gravedigger, meant to be a nice bit of quirky comic relief, is pitch perfect. They added an element of CCTV to it that fit just so perfectly. The soliloquies are done extremely well. There is just not anything NOT to like about that piece.

    Watched Death Race last night.

Very predictable, but still very entertaining.

Recently, I've watched Paul Blart, Obsessed, Yes Man, and a few other ones that I wasn't entertained by. But after I woke up, my wife said Yes Man was pretty good, so maybe I'll try to get through it. I just can't stay awake once a movie gets put on anymore.

Saw Yes Man the other week. Didn't hate it.
