I watched that on a plane, while also drifting in and out of sleep. As you would guess, I ended up thoroughly confused.

The Last Airbender was, even with cool visual effects, was unmitigated toilet film. Ugh. Two hours of my life I'll never get back.

"Glory" on one of the Encore channels right now. Seen it probably 20 times, but get sucked in every time.

Every major actor in the film, from Matthew Broderick to Morgan Freeman to Denzel Washington to Andre Braugher to even Cary Elwes, gives a tour de force performance.

Signs wasn't particularly good, but it made a fortune at the Box Office.

I just got back from Get Him to the Greek.
I was a little disapointed. I really liked the Aldus Snow character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Saw Knight and Day. Cruise can do this kind of stuff in his sleep, but Diaz didn't seem a good fit for this kind of stuff; she wasn't in Charlie's Angels, either. Had its moments, but a lotta stuff was so telegraphed, a lot of suspense was lost. And even given that bad guys are generally gonna be bad shots in a movie like this, they were to a ridiculous extent in this one.

That's the one I've been dying to see.

If this sludge results in every major Hollywood studio giving Shamalamadingdong the (long-overdue) cold shoulder, it'll be morning in America.

I read that it's actually doing quite well at the Box Office and should clear $40-$50 million this weekend.

    "Raw Meat"

A 1972 British horror about horrors in the subway system starring Donald Pleasence. Decent enough flick, but two complaints.

    1. It was horrendously slow at points, and any scene that Pleasence wasn't in was fairly dull.

    2. The British accent is so deep on these people that you almost need subtitles. I found myself rewinding several times just to understand what the heck they were saying.

The theatre I was in was full, FWIW. There are enough people who watched the TV show for it to be a big draw. They set it up for a sequel, which I'm told is already in the works. It'll not get my money.

Watched Whiteout this morning. It was OK. I'm about to cue up State of Play.

Regrettable. The guy made one movie that was worth a quarter, and he plows on.
