Finally watched "Kick-Ass" last night. Pretty good, but seemed to lag a bit in spots. Just about worth it for Nic Cage's Adam West impression, though.

Watched "Changeling" on Wednesday and can't recommend it enough. Terrific work by Jolie and Eastwood (behind the camera). He's a phenomenal director.

Watched "State of Play" last night. Thought it was well-done, and avoided many of the groaners you usually see in "journalism" movies.

Finally saw "Inception." Interesting. Wish I could do that with a few people.

Caught The Expendables the other night.

    It was what it was.

They blew lots of shit up.

    Liked it OK.

Rented "The Benchwarmers." You know, the movie with Rob Schneider, David Spade and that Napoleon Dynamite guy acting like juveniles.

Eh ... my son (age 11-1/2) loves it, and it was tolerable, I guess. Lots of fart jokes.

Best part for me: My boys from Britain, Supergrass, had a song in it! (off their great "I Should Coco" album, no less). Here's the song, Alright, and the goofy video:

    Get Low.

Definitely no Supergrass in sight; but the movie's calm pace, enjoyable script, and fine performances by Robert Duvall, Bill Murray and SJ fave Lucas Black combined to make for a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon out of the heat.

Dr. J and I rented the Book of Eli the other night. It was better the the dreck we normally rent and I hate Denzel Washington.

    Solid B.

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.

Horrid movie. So cliched. But holy christ do I love Jesse Bradford.

Scott Pilgrim? Really? How? The trailer doesn't even do much for me. I'm asking because I've heard it's great from several different directions and am almost convinced to go see it. Should I really see this?

Still haven't seen 'Scott Pilgrim.' I expect to see it this week or next.

Recently watched 'Pretty Bird,' which was a strange little movie, and 'The Last Station,' for which I had higher hopes. The latter needed more. I wasn't expecting a Tolstoy biopic, but it needed more. It was good though. As a viewer, my allegiance was shifting between Chertkov and the Countess a couple of times.
