"The Killer Inside Me." Man, Casey Affleck is stone cold. But it's a bit cheesy. Lots of nudity though, if you like that sort of thing.

GF has a birthday coming up very soon. I'm hoping to use 'Pilgrim' as a birthday activity.

The Other Guys is a hoot.
Not sure I've seen a funnier movie since The Hangover.
Now, Hangover is an A-plus comedy and Other Guys is probably a B-plus, so don't go expecting a classic, but it meets the standard of keeping you laughing all the way to the end. So many comedies pack a fair amount of jokes in to the first 30 minutes and then run out of steam.

Went to see The Expendables tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and I think my testosterone level went up about 1,000 points just by watching it. Also found myself chuckling at times at how unapologetic the movie was about the violence, gunplay and explosions.

Also, saw The Other Guys last week, and enjoyed that too. Loved the subplots about Gamble's character: the past life as a pimp, his unexplainable status as a chick magnet and his obliviousness to the fact he has the perfect wife.

I'm hardly the demographic they're looking for, and still thought it was great.
Better hurry . . . the numbers remain bad, and not sure how much longer
it's going to last in first run.

Bridges' championship scene-stealing effort was in The Fabulous Baker Boys,
but the overall positive aura that surrounds the guy remains largely due
to the Coens. As it is, so shall it be.

People say this all the time, and I just don't get it. Hangover was a funny movie, one of the better ones of the year. I watched and enjoyed it twice. But an all-time classic? Funniest movie ever? Not even in the neighborhood. Did I miss something everyone else saw?

  11. I'm with you on that. There are plenty of movies that have come out in recent years I find more amusing.

And I also think Big Lebowski is wildly overrated. But to each their own.

Seems comedy is a question of taste more than any other genre. I loved Lebowski - was completely uninterested in Napoleon Dynamite.
