    The American.

A thriller that indeed thrills in spots, but it's hack work, and it's not as if you can't see what's coming
    down the road.

    Salt.

More entertaining that I thought it would be.

You're more optimistic, by far, than I am. Maybe I'm depressive from watching too many Swedish movies.
I've seen the commercial twice, and they make it look like vampire horror movie, which I guess is better than a vampire-human-werewolf mopey teen love triangle but still pretty far from the heart of the original.

Also, we watched 'Jennifer's Body' on cable the other night. There about six funny lines. It almost wanted to go beyond obvious faux hipness into actual self-awareness, but couldn't make it.
    Thumbs down.

And speaking of thumbs, the gratuitous kissing scene between the 'Transformers' girl and the 'Chloe' girl brought a sickening revelation.
    Meghan Fox has toe thumbs.

    I finally saw Salt.

Pretty good. The ending was a bit much, but the previous 75 minutes were pretty satisfying and action-packed without being cheesy.

Agreed. Most all the stunts were unbelievable, but there were a few that were over the top unbelievable. Other than that, I enjoyed it. A lot.

Just watched "Cop Out" and I don't think there's been a more truthful movie in the last decade. This was, by and large, the biggest cop out of a movie I've ever seen.

Every single person involved in the writing, directing and producing of this movie should issue a formal apology to anyone who actually spent two hours watching this piece of filth as this was, by far, one of the worst movies I've seen all year.

The acting was terrible, the plot asinine. Save for a few one-liners and the one scene where Tracy Morgan punches an 11-year old, this was an absolutely atrocious movie.

    1/10.

I watched "Jennifer's Body" last night.
    Please accept my apology.

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" I like it - mainly because I enjoy watching whatever Bell is in and Brand is quite funny in this.

    "The Town."

    DO

    NOT

    MISS

    IT!!!

Best thing I've seen this year and best movie Ben Affleck has ever done. Guess he finally had to starting writing and directing his own stuff to get something good. Also, if you're from Boston or just love the city, the movie is like porn with the sweeping overhead and helicopter shots.

    The Lodger.

    Some Hitchcock remake, I think.

    Bleh.

The preview I saw for this during Inception made me mentally mark it down. It looks very interesting and since I've got a pretty big man crush on Ben Affleck, I'm sure I'll love it.

All the reviews I've seen are saying that with this, and Gone Baby Gone, Affleck may be stepping up to fill the void left by the inevitable retirement/death of Clint Eastwood in terms of talented actors who are even better directors. Agree? Disagree?
