Saw Red. Pretty funny. Wasn't expecting much so I wasn't disappointed.

There's something about little kids swearing that cracks me up. "Big Daddy" had a couple of similar moments.

That should be excerpted for an ad.

Watched a NatGeo documentary on the FBI a few days ago. Interesting stuff about how they're fighting to overcome Hoover's stain while simultaneously paying homage to him.

Also watched the BBC documentary about Hiroshima, which was even-handed and very well done.

    'Taking Woodstock'
I really like Demetri Martin as a comedian, and I wanted to like the movie.
But it was very strange. I didn't dislike it, but I was really unsatisfied.
There was no real substance, I guess.

Although, the representation of the acid trip was well done and had me grinning.

"Convicted." Pretty good stuff. Not Hilary Swank's finest but Juliette Lewis is great in a small role.

Winter's Bone - Interesting thriller set in the Ozarks. Good idea overall, but a little too slow for my tastes.

Catfish. I would have to really think about which was worse, that or Knight and Day.

Horrible, horrible movie. I have no concept how that movie got distribution.

I watched 'My Life as a House' starring Kevin Kline last night and loved it. My fiancee streamed it from Netflix shortly after I got home from work, about 12:30 a.m. and I kind of thought to myself, "Can't we watch something that will interest both of us?" But I figured, ah, what the hell, we weren't going to watch the whole thing anyway and would probably just go to bed in a half hour or so.

She dozed off on the couch. I was awake until 2:30 watching it.

Kevin Kline's performance was superb, enough to offset Hayden Christensen's predictably horrible presence anytime a girl shares the screen with him.

Christensen isn't a bad actor. George Lucas just makes good actors look like hacks.
