Saw "Faster" and it exceeded my expectations. I expected a C movie, and I would give it a B. Dwayne Johnson is suitably intense, Billy Bob Thornton is in Bad Santa/Cowboy mode, and there are a number of twists and turns. Not a great movie, as there are cliches and believability is tossed at times to make the story work, but it was decently acted and held my interest. It did make some attempts at morality and dilemma, which I appreciated. FYI -- It is not a car-chase movie at all despite the title. But it is certainly watchable if you want to see a thriller-type movie with some twists and turns.

The World According to Garp and Insomnia aren't bad.

'Garp ' was alright. 'The Fisher King' was fantastic despite Williams' presence.
In general, I can't stand the guy.

Don't really care for Williams, either, mainly because his act has been exactly the same for going on 25 years. But he's generally very-good-to-excellent in a dramatic role.

I can't take him in dramatic roles either. He's just effusing and emoting all over ther screen.
Even when he tries to do subtle or restrained, it's like there's a big flashing sign that says 'Look how subtle and reserved I'm being!'
I'm not a fan, but I love Terry Gilliam and 'The Fisher King.'

Awakenings was outstanding and Patch Adams was decent too. Mrs. Doubtfire was one of the best comedies of the 1990s. Jumanji was a good family film.

The guy has been in some clunkers, but he's had some damn fine films, too.

Finally watched Toy Story 3. Great way to end the series.

I saw it last night, too. Really good movie. Tears flowing from my wife and daughter.

Man, I saw Toy Story 3 over the weekend and it just didn't touch me at all. Maybe my expectations were too high. I was disappointed.

Saw Deathly Hallows this afternoon. It has never occurred to me that this might happen, but I found myself suddenly suffering from Harry Potter fatigue.

Don't get me wrong, it's very well made, competently performed, visually stunning at times, but I found myself sitting there wondering, "OK, who will be the next character to get whacked?" It's the same reason I haven't seen the last two seasons of the Sopranos. The magic has gone up the chimney, and it's sort of a trudge to the end.
