I almost never see movies multiple times in the theater, but I think I went back a few days after seeing Memento for the first time to better understand it.

Great film. Probably a better story than Inception, but Inception was more visually stunning and maybe overall, a smoother film to watch.

I liked 'Inception,' but 'Memento' is a vastly superior movie.

I loved The Social Network. Thought it was absolutely brilliant.

Biggest surprise was how well Justin Timberlake carried off his role.

Oh, and I should have added True Grit to my list of best movies---based on the early hype, anyway

I wasn't sure if I should start a new post, so I decided to post this here:

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides trailer was released yesterday.

    http://insidemovies.ew.com/2010/12/13/pirates-of-the-caribbean-4-teaser/

The first 45-ish seconds is Captain Jack babbling nonsense and swigging the rum, then it kicks into the movie scenes.

I know Pirates 2 and especially 3 received some necessary negative feedback, but I'm still a fan of the series. This movie looks like it could be better as it features a leaner and more believable (no octopus-faced Davey Jones) characters.

At some point, Timberlake will be one of the biggest movie stars on the planet.

I have only seen the first "Pirates" movie. It had one of the biggest plot holes in movie history.

They're trying to keep the Pirates from lifting the curse ... why, exactly? Whether they're ghosts or flesh-and-blood, they're still marauding pirates. I can understand why the pirates would want the curse lifted, but why does anyone else care?

The British want the pirates dead because they attacked their port city. Once they realize the pirates are cursed and aren't killable, then they try to lift the curse. So once the pirates return to a corporeal form, they can then kill and/or imprison them, thus eliminating the pirate problem and exacting revenge for the attack.

All three Pirates movies fall somewhere between Mediocre to insufferable.

The last one felt like it took nine hours to get over.

With a field like that, you have to carefully break down the town's pets, who loves who, who hates who, et al, as it appears a runaway isn't in the cards . . . though the profilers with a strong sense of Oscar history will be going all jelly-legged over King's Speech, which slavishly adhires to many of Oscar's favored quirks.

Inception this weekend. Wild, provoking. Well done.
