Acceptable, but screaming for better character development. Had to just accept that the meek college professor, Prius-driving Russell Crowe could break his wife outta the joint.

Oh I'm with ya on Drew. She's been atrocious in so many films (Donnie Darko leaps to mind). However, I liked her in her small part and her direction neither floored me nor pissed me off.

I thought it was a decent film. Barrymore's character nearly tanked the whole thing though. There was no need for that slapstick nonsense from a woman who is just not funny.

Pretty funny, just don't watch it expecting anything on the level of the Hangover.

Black Swan exceeded expectations for me. Well developed parallel between the Swan Lake storyline and the movie's storyline and, for the most part, well executed. There's so much symbolism they come close to overdoing it. Vincent Cassell was well cast in his role. Portman was worthy of Oscar consideration. I'd like to have seen Winona Ryder's character (older ballerina Beth) developed better.

    Watched Turistas.

Think Hostel on the beach.... Ugh... I couldn't watch the last half hour.

OK, I'm on a losing streak now. Saw RED yesterday at the dollar theatre and came away with the same feeling I had after watching The Tourist. Namely, with that cast they could have done so much more. I could stare at Mary Louise Parker and Helen Mirren all day long, but it's a movie, you know? It's not a magazine.

Red was one of those that just had so much unfulfilled potential. It could have been great. Instead, it was meh.

I'm really looking forward to this one. A few buddies and I plan on seeing it sometime when I'm home for Christmas.

I watched 28 Weeks Later on Saturday. Bought it in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart. Good movie. I don't think it's as good as its prequel 28 Days Later.

GF liked 'Black Swan.' I didn't care for it.
It was an interesting effort, though, and Portman was very good in the moments of the alternate character.
I can't say I'm an Aronofsky fan, but I can respect a movie that that is an attempt at something real. Even when it doesn't work, you can respect the effort.
    Unlike 95 percent of movies.

Just got out of an advanced screening of the Green Hornet with Seth Rogen.

Not a good movie, by any stretch of the imagination, but my god it was hilarious.

Just the one liners in the film (Especially in an early scene with the villian and "Crystal Clear") slayed me. And the scene after Britt wakes up after a rather long time (trying not to give anything away)? His response to Kato nearly made me cry.

Overall, if you like the funnier aspects of Iron Man, you'll love this. The humor is absolutely top-notch. Be advised though, it's nowhere near as serious as better, much more rewatchable hero flicks and, really, as a movie it kind of drags.

Oh, and Seth Rogen sucks. lol. Just thought I'd share that.

So Rogen sucks and it's still hilarious?
