A possible explanation for the Flick/Schwartz screw-up: The kid playing Flick is actually named Schwartz, according to imdb. Still, a continuity calamity.

Finally saw Ordinary People the other night. The interplay between Timothy Hutton and Judd Hirsch was awesome, and Donald Sutherland poignantly portrayed a man desperately trying to keep his family (what's left of it) together. I really don't think Mary Tyler Moore added terribly much, tho.

The Black Swan. Natalie Portman's stellar performance and multiple masturbation scenes were not enough to overcome mediocre directing and screenplay. I didn't love it.

Just an amazing movie. It's been years since I've seen it because it just destroys me. I thought MTM was great playing against type and she was robbed of her Oscar. I don't remember who won that year but whenever the story about the biggest mistakes the Academy voters have made, that one seems to get mentioned.

    Natalie Portman's multiple masturbation scenes?

Is there any nudity in that movie? Portman? Kunis? Ryder?

An Aronofsky movie with that cast and no nudity? Disappointing... :D

Saw Gulliver's Travels with one of the little novelists today. Not generally a fan of Jack Black, but it was entertaining, if predictable. I'm looking forward to seeing True Grit in the next couple of days.

We're seeing either True Grit or Black Swan tonight. Just not sure which one. Been pumped for True Grit for a couple months, but this news about Black Swan might sway me.

Not going to lie, I wouldn't expect you to like Black Swan. Based on what it seems your tastes are, this one's going to be a little too artsy for you.
