Watched The Town last night. Stupendously overrated.

Another formulaic bank heist movie and sorry, why was Don Draper playing an FBI agent? Other than Jeremy Renner's performance not much to write home about.

Wow... That's arguably my favorite movie so far this year. To each their own.

Saw The King's Speech. LOVED IT. It's soooo me, though.

    British - check.
    Period piece - check.
    Colin Firth - check.
    Guy Pearce - check.

It doesn't get much better than that for me.

Like Lisa Simpson up there, it's hard for me to say which I liked better, TKS or TSN. Really enjoyed both and think both are locks for Best Pic Noms.

That said, my heart can still be won for Best Pic.

I've seen four movies in the last couple of week that I've liked better than The Town: Made in Dagenham, Social Network, The Fighter and True Grit.

But as you say, each to his own.

Next up is probably King's English. Both HC & I want to see that. Also, "Inside Job" a doc on the financial meltdown of 2008

I'd probably put The Social Network ahead of The Town. I'll be seeing The Fighter and True Grit and maybe Black Swan this week.

Saw Tron:Legacy today. Thought the guy playing Ed Dillinger Jr. looked a little familiar. Got home, turns out it's Cillian Murphy in an uncredited part. Felt vindicated.

Saw a pair of movies the past two days with mixed results.

Re-watched Inception for the first time since I saw it in theaters and, while I liked the concept, I don't think it was as fun as it could have been. Still a good movie but not a perfect one and not nearly as good as the internet made it out to be.

Just got done with the Expendables as well. Talk about a shitty flick. While I loved the cast and the action was incredible, the movie itself was really, really, really dumb. It basically served no other purpose than "Let's blow shit up" and while I can definitely tolerate a ton of that, there has to at least be a little bit of plot. This movie had none.

Can I reiterate how shitty the social network was without sounding like a complete ass?

That said, I recently saw 'the crazies,' one of the best horror flicks I've seen in a long time. Timothy olyphant was excellent. I liked that it elwas more than a zombie movie, which is all I was really expecting.

I also saw 'the ugly truth' with Gerard butler and Katherine heigl. It's a fun take on the cyrano de Bergerac story. I generally like butler and heigl has some comedic chops (she's good in this and knocked up, the only two flicks I've seen her in). I wasn't expecting much from this movie but I laughed and didn't think it was terribly sappy.

Just watched the Other Guys. Had a few laugh out loud moments but nothing to really write home about.

The culmination of the scene with "My Hero" by the Foo Fighters playing was hysterical though. Absolutely wrecked me. Funniest scene I've seen in a Will Farrell movie since Baxter got punted off a bridge.

TigerVols' Top 2010 Top 10 (not that anyone asked or even cares).

Don't bother with: Shutter Island; Due Date; Get him to the Greek; Date Night (personal worst movie of year), Black Swan (schmaltzy high-brow).

Far better than expected: How to Train Your Dragon; Get Low; The Girl who Played with Fire; The Town, Knight and Day (personal "most surprisingly entertaining" movie).

    Top 10:

    10. The Social Network
    9. The Kids Are Alright
    8. The Ghost Writer
    7. Unstoppable
    6. Alice in Wonderland 3D
    5. Toy Story 3
    4. The King's Speech
    3. Inception
    2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
    1. True Grit

Just saw it as well. Bale was awesome, but Adams was better.
