Either True Grit or The Fighter tomorrow. Leaning toward True Grit. Watching 'A Serious Man' on HBO. The scene with the neighbor lady smoking pot ... for recreation. She's equally creepy and sexy. I thought I would hate this movie, but it's one of my favorites by the Coens.

Wedge, I had that choice over the weekend and chose True Grit. I came away very satisfied. Very well done movie. If I had an Oscar vote, I wouldn't vote for it for best picture because I have misgivings about remakes in that category, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll watch The Fighter when it comes out on video.

Night before last I rented The American on amazon. I can see why it did poorly at the box office. Kind of slow moving and they didn't pick the most scenic portions of Italy in which to set it. European arthouse movie of the sort that American audiences usually stay away from. I managed to enjoy it anyway. Violante Placido made it worth the price of the rental by herself.

Placido, and her constant lack of clothing, was the only good thing about that movie.

I think you are the only other person who agrees with me on this. For the life of me, I don't understand the love for this movie. I thought the writing was piss.

Inception. Didn't feel it lived up to the hype.

Watched it last night. What a bunch of bullshit. I couldn't wait for it to end. I would have rather been washing dishes.

Aaron Sorkin is a God! He makes fun of Republicans and does coke.

Sorry, I know this thread is intended to be for new films. And one of these days I'll make my way back to an actual theater. For now, I'll eat my pork chops and watch the wonderful Biloxi Blues. Eugene dancing with Daisy. Love this movie.

That was one great film. Bening & Moore were both Oscar worthy, Mark Ruffalo was solid as usual

My favourite line: "This is hot. This is like Africa hot. I don't think I can stay here if it's gonna be this hot".
