Williams seems fearless. Synadoche, New York as but one example.

Hathaway doesn't quite have that, but Rachel Getting Married is where she at least tries.

Williams might be the best of the relatively young actresses working and hard to believe she came of age on Dawson's Creek.

Just saw Blue Valentine and Williams' performance was very strong. I doubt she'll win the Oscar, but I think she deserves it. Her role was probably the most emotionally demanding of the bunch this cycle.

As for the film, it's a bummer that drags in places. Could have chopped a half hour off it.

Finally watched The Social Network. Thought it was very good. I haven't seen The King's Speech yet but from what I have seen it wouldn't disappoint me if Eisenberg won the Oscar

    The Devil and Daniel Johnston.

I understand the tenderness being shown the subject, but I couldn't take much more of the awful singing a half an hour in. Those not familiar with the guy could easily mistake it for a mockumentary.

He's not going to - Colin Firth has that sucker wrapped up in a nice tidy bow. Which is fine by me, personally - having seen both films, and enjoyed both films tremendously, I think Firth's performance is just a titch better. And Eisenberg will get more chances if he plays his cards right.

I like Eisenberg a lot, but I really can't help but wonder how many starring roles the guy will get. I hope it's a lot, but we'll see.

Watched "The Social Network" last night. Enjoyed it thoroughly, especially Sorkin's script.

Minor quibble: the characters talked so rapidly, often over-top of each other, that I had to turn the closed captioning on to follow what was happening. I'd have been lost in the theater.

I almost pick this up every time I see it, because anything involving music catches my attention, but the subject matter is not something I want to spend two hours with. With this review, I can now avoid it for good.

His artwork is much more interesting than his music. Worth a pickup, maybe for a hangover Sunday. I got my ass kicked on the homestead for pish-poshing it, that he's a tortured poet and talented songwriter, that there's beauty in his madness. I'll have to rewatch it during the week.

Stepbrothers is on now on FX. Can't wait to see how much is censored/changed for TV.

This is $1,200 a week for voice lessons and this is what I get?

Great movie. Turned it on over the summer while lazing around the house and now it's on my list of movies I can't not watch no matter when I come across them.

That whole first scene turned into a haze for me when I saw it in the theater. By the second watching, I was able to get a handle on it. But yes, that was sort of annoying.
