That's how everybody talks in Sorkin's mind.
    I can't stand it.

Finally saw "Machete" on DVD. Possibly the most gloriously over the top politically incorrect film ever made. I would bet the anti-immigrant death squads have a bounty on Rodriguez as a result.
Interesting among the acknowledgements in the closing credits to see "The Governor and First Lady of Texas." Did Rick Perry have a clue what this film was about? If I were challenging him from the right I'd be pounding him with it.

It was tame as far as exploitation films are concerned.

I haven't seen Social Network. Does this dialogue device resemble at all what Robert Altman usually does? That's pretty much one of his signature moves, to great effect.

Just saw The King's Speech this afternoon. Real good, lived up to its billing, and I haven't been able to identify anything that I would consider a real flaw. Helena Bonham Carter was terrific, just great use of her face, and it was nice to see her in a serious role after a flurry of psycho witch in the Harry Potter (which she's very good at, also).

"Animal Kingdom" - I'm not sure Jackie Weaver deserved a Best Supporting Actress nomination (although she was good), but I really enjoyed the movie.

    Let Me In.

Not as good as Let The Right One In, the Swedish original. But the kids (Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Moretz) did a nice job acting the roles. They took a couple of liberties with the original but the endings are pretty much identical. It was better than I thought it was going to be.

Here's a classic case of overthinking things: I saw commercials for Let Me In, thought it looked kind of interesting, but instead of going to the movie, I read the book first, assuming that in book-movie cases, the book is always better. I hated it, or at least it grew tiresome, and I just wanted it to be over. So now I still want to see the movie, but, as was always the case from the beginning, anyway, I would much rather see the Swedish original, anyway. So ... fuck.

When Altman does it, it's usually for comedic effect. But in The Social Network --- especially in the first scene --- one character would begin his/her reply before the previous character had finished speaking.

I get it, Zuckerberg's a REALLY smart guy. But no one is that quick-witted.

The Notorious Bettie Page. An inspiring piece of work.

Chaos Theory. Interesting how it was strung together. I really enjoyed it, and I'm not generally a Ryan Reynolds fan.
