    Catfish.

Just short of two hours I'll never get back.

    Wasteful, 70-IQ drool.

"Welcome to the Rileys" James Gandolfini with a Southern accent. Cute little quirky movie.

Saw "Easy A" last night. It had its moments.

Zipped through a relative oldie I'd seen before: "The Fourth Protocol," with a very young-looking Pierce Brosnan and Michael Caine.

Kinda goofy cold-war fare, but the leads, especially Caine, make it tolerable.

Because I've lived a sheltered life, I only just got around to seeing 'Eraserhead'.

I don't know what planet I live on now, but I think I liked it.

Do you just cut them up like regular chickens?
Yeah, you just cut them up like regular chickens.

"The Girl Who Played With Fire."

Say what you will, and the whole "Millennium" trilogy of books has its weak points, but Noomi Rapace so nails the Lisbeth Salander character that I don't care.

I think the editing of the story to this point to fit the movie form, leaving out a lot of the subplots and creating some new scenes to move the lager narrative, has been pretty good.

I've got the third one at home, may watch it tonight.

Debate what you will its veracity, but "Catfish" -- especially the final 45 minutes -- is among the most enthralling filmmaking I've ever watched. While the lead-up to the final act may have very well been fabricated (at least the documenting of it), I find it very hard to believe the family portrayed were actors.

Such harsh criticism should be reserved for cliche-ridden films that do not attempt to be unique, creative or thought-provoking on any level. Certainly not this film, which even if you hated, deserves respect if only for its ability to elicit such a response.

You have a right, and you're a smart guy.

But I reserve my reverence for filmmaking expertise to films which have at least one other endearing attribute -- especially, hopefully, a script which isn't an insult to human intelligence.

The obvious self-reverence didn't help C one whit, either.

"Revolutionary Road," aka, "Mad Men, An Alternative History: What if Pete Campbell and Betty Draper had gotten married instead of Don Draper and Betty?"

Difficult to succeed when a television show that is its contemporary mines the same subject matter with superior execution. Still, it is definitely relatable in many ways - I think a whole lot of us could relate, for example, to the DiCaprio character's job fulfillment issues.

Somewhat ruined by a lot of cringe-worthy, perfectly articulated lines that people would never say in real life during an argument or otherwise. Could have used a dialogue doctor to excise some of the obviousness that just takes you right out of the willing suspension of disbelief.

Michael Shannon totally stole that movie for me. His scenes are awesome.

Never Let Me Go, the story of British kids raised in boarding schools to become organ transplant donors.

Interesting look at their attempts to lead normal lives despite their fate, and their desperate attempt to escape it.
