Ebert's not alone. It got raves across the board in Toronto.

Finally saw The King's Speech. It was...different. Firth and Rush were great, though, and it was an interesting story.

    "Vanishing on 7th Street." Awful.

"Cedar Rapids." Hilarious. Ed Helms plays a dorkier version of his "Hangover" character, but John C. Reilly steals the show. Also, for Arrested Development fans, "Maebe" has a fairly significant part.

The former Iowegian in me wants to know ... does the home of Quaker Oats play into the movie at all, or is it just a random city name they picked?

Cedar Rapids is, of course, a five-seasons city.

    Double dip tonight:

Get Him To The Greek -- I thought Diddy was really good in this. As was, strangely, Russell Brand. Enjoyable schlock.

Fish Tank -- Had been waiting on this to show up on instant for a while now. Phenomenal acting by the young Katie Jarvis, as this was apparently her first feature role. Nice use of music. Gut wrenching moments all the way through. Great film.

Did "Dinner for Schmucks" last night. Enjoyable, considering the $1.06 Redbox price tag. Best exchange of the film comes when the boss says he wants Paul Rudd's character and his girlfriend to take a lunch meeting with a potential client because he's "the only one of us who isn't divorced or dating a prostitute."

After he leaves, one first guy says "My girlfriend's not a prostitute!"
Other guy: "She tried to give me a BJ."
FG: "Well, she didn't charge money, did she? She's not a prostitute if she doesn't charge you for it!"
OG: "She asked me for money. It wasn't too expensive either. Plus, I had all those ones left over from your sister's birthday party. Tell me, is Cinnamon a family name?"

    Hilarious.

Returning that tonite, I saw the local Redbox had "Morning Glory" checked in. Got it, watching it tonite. Will report tomorrow.

Morning Glory: Ugh. So disappointed, because I really wanted to like this film. Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Jeff Goldblum? Like them all. Rachel McAdams? REALLY LIKE -- God, she's beautiful. But... the movie? Ugh.

Caught part of She's Out of My League, and only part. Managed to keep watching for a bit because the girl is hot and there are some great shots of Pittsburgh in it, but otherwise not even a little entertaining.

Good doc about a great band. One of my favorites in high school.

The trailers were/are poisonous. I know I'm going to have to sit through a good piece of it, since know my gf wants to see it, but not looking forward to it.

Watched Bugsy yesterday and I found it much more enjoyable now than I did when it first came out. Some of the stuff only a writer would enjoy, like how he kept correcting people's word usage. Very interesting stoyr. Oh, and Annette Bening ... wowser.
