The new "X-Men vs. the Cuban Missile Crisis" (or whatever it's called) looks dreadful based on the trailer.

I'm sure someone will come out and say, "It was very faithful to the comic book."

    And I don't give a shit.

    It's a riot.

They roll out part of the score from The Karate Kid's All-Valley tournament.

At one point the documentarian is interviewing the foil's shriveled-up parents, and the old man says of his son (who was named the Video Game Player of the Century), "He's just a winner."

Read the book, fascinating read. Had already seen the movie, but the book was more fulfilling. Really taught me how ignorance of the culture hurts the US.

Saw "Fair Game" a couple of weeks ago and thought it was powerful. That outing of Plame was brutal; and even more than her personal loss of career; the Rove/Cheney assassination of her and total disregard for her family and those put in peril by her outing was despicable.

"The Kings Speech" was well done. Firth was wonderful but that movie would not have been what it was without Geoffrey Rush, he was the perfect foil.

    Thor - Pretty good.

Next up will be Green Lantern. I have high hopes for that one.

Watched I Love You, Phillip Morris last night. The wife and I debated it for a while today and neither of us is sure if we liked it or not. I need a film buff like CI to chime in. Just such an odd movie, I'm not sure what to think.

An odd movie and a sweet love story, rather like "Secretary" I thought. Enjoyed it very much and I don't usually like Jim Carrey.

If it's similar in tone/style to Secretary, I'll check it out. Thanks, HC and YGBFKM.

    "Secretary" was awful.

Based on the trailer I just saw, the Toyota Highlander kid plays Mel Gibson's son in "The Beaver." Yet another reason not to see it ...

Finally watched The King's Speech. Sat there the whole time wondering if penis piercings were named after THAT Prince Albert. Good movie - acting was incredible.

Second that. Saw it when it was in the theater, or shortly thereafter.
