I really like the first one and have seen it many times as well. Strangely enough, I don't have much interest in seeing a second one. I'm not even sure I'll see it in theaters.

Just came back from seeing Thor. I loved it. I enjoyed the story and they were able to get some pretty good actors in there.

I caught the new Avenger cameo after a couple of seconds and I thought it was a pretty clever. Of course, I stayed for the bonus scene at the end, but still trying to figure out exactly what that means.

    SPOILER ALERT!
    SPOLIER ALERT!
    etc., etc.

To disagree a bit with Bigpern, I thought Loki worked just fine as the villain. I wouldn't call him an "evil genius," but he did play the political game pretty well to get himself in power. Plus, the movie did a good job of making us understand his motive. I was a bit surprised actually to see him lure the Frost Giant leader into Odin's lair, kill him there and then plot the destruction of that kingdom -- the main thing that got Thor banished to Earth.

HBO's "Too Big To FAIL" is on the docket tonight. I've been waiting for this one.

Still haven't been inside a theater in nearly two years.

Just saw this one. Emotional in a weird way; it builds and builds, packing a wallop at the end. I teared up once in the film, but during the final scene, I began to finally let out a good cry. The emotion was earned through a solid story and top-notch acting, especially by Michelle Williams. Ryan Gosling was great, no doubt, but his role was far more showy. Williams' work was subtle and strong.

Watching "The Sons of Katie Elder" right now. Quality entertainment.

I'm guessing quite a few people who aren't big comic book readers were confused because they have no idea what that cube is.

Indeed. At dinner after the movie, I got to regale my wife with explanations of the Cosmic Cubes and Marvel's various other classic forays into outer space: the Beyonder, the Kree-Skrull War, etc.

    Very romantic.

Yeah, I really haven't looked at comic books since I was about nine or 10; I'll have to read up on those cosmic cubes. Also, I was wondering if Loki was communicating telepathically with the doctor, or was the doctor actually Loki inhabiting his body or form.

JayFarrar mentioned some speculation that he was Loki in disguise all along on the Geek thread, which is certainly possible.

Watching Scott Pilgrim on the strength of Buck's repeated rave reviews. Liking it quite a lot so far.

It's an audience-splitter, but those of us who like it (myself included) tend to love it, a lot.

Watched the new Robin Hood last night. Pretty dull. Don't recommend it.
