Bridesmaids. Very funny, probably even funnier than I expected (and I figured it would be pretty good). But the funniest part was when my wife - who mind you went to the counter and bought the tickets - upon seeing Kristin Wiig and Jon Hamm in the opening scene turned to me and said, "Are we in the right movie? Where's The Hangover?" causing me to stare blankly at her.

Is that the one where the drop-dead gorgeous woman walks around naked for most of the movie?

Watched "The King's Speech" on DVD. A terrific movie - well worth renting.

I watched "The Mechanic" with Jason Statham and Ben Foster last night and it was a pretty good action movie. Ben Foster is criminally underrated.

I liked him in "Hostage" and "Pandorum" and I keep meaning to see "The Messenger," but haven't gotten around to it.

The Messenger is a brilliant, powerful film.

I agree about Foster being criminally underrated. Great actor.

I agree as well. I wanted to wring his neck for nearly every second of "3:10 to Yuma," and I mean that as a compliment.

Pirates. Decent flick. Wife explained all the things I didn't understand, i.e. the religious guy never dying despite getting sword-slashed a couple of times.
Lots of loose ends to lead into Pirates 5.

PS -- I didn't know mermaids were vampires.

    Please let it die honorably.

I think they would have been better off rebooting it with a new actor playing Dr. Henry "Indiana" Jones, rather than continuing on a timeline into the '50s with Mutt Williams. Mutt Williams chasing a MacGuffin is not "Indiana Jones and the Chase of the MacGuffin."

The problem is Spielberg and Lucas think this toad can act. More, they think he can really act.

Look for him to be in more than a few Spielberg movies in the future.
