Really? I recognized Elwes as I was watching it.

The line about him kidnapping a toddler was the one I was thinking of. That did make me laugh.

Super 8 was fun. The kids were cute and delivered some funny lines. I jumped in my seat a few times. Sort of a cross between Stand By Me and a less freaky War of the Worlds. Worth the money.

Paul - Funny in parts, but it could have been a lot better.

Just watched "An Unfinished Life" on TV. Hadn't even heard of it before. Surprised I hadn't, considering its cast: Freeman, Redford, Jennifer Lopez, Camron Manheim, Josh Lucas. Even more pleasantly surprised how much I dug it.

JLo and her daughter escape an abusive boyfriend, end up at the Wyoming ranch of Redford (JLo's estranged father-in-law), who still blames her for his son's death and has no idea the granddaughter even exists. Nice bonding story between the girl and Redford (who dove headlong into the bottle after his son's death), and tale of forgiveness all-round. Check it out.

I worked on that movie, and got to spend a lovely few weeks in Kamloops as a result!

Robert Redford was the most down-to-earth MOVIE STAR (in ever sense of the term) you can ever hope to meet.

Saw Pirates last night... disappointing. I can handle the darker mood, even if there should have been more lighter moments. I can handle the darker cinematography...
I understand it's not going to have the same chemistry as the first three because the cast has changed so dramatically. But they had no chemistry. None.

Yeah, the buoyancy of the Pirates franchise has been lost. Sadly.

Speaking of Redford, at 9 p.m. tonight I will be watching one of the crappiest moves to ever get its hooks into me: Up Close and Personal. Hate Pfeiffer, but can NOT get enough of that movie. So cheesy, so wrong, but so freaking good.

Encore Love or whatever it's called for others interested. :D

Wasn't that loosely based on the Savitch-Kershaw relationship?

Taping Ice Station Zebra tonight and will watch on a continuous loop.

Yep, though I didn't know it when I watched it the first time.
