Wimbledon tradition for me, popped in 2004's "Wimbledon" with Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany. Just dig this small flick, though I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea. (See what I did there?)

Anyway, Bettany is golden in it.

It's only tangentially related to tennis, but Woody Allen's "Match Point", with Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, from a few years back was an underrated flick ...

I consider 'Matchpoint' to be Woody Allen's best film -- and that's saying something.

Yeah, namely that you've never seen Annie Hall.

    ;)

I think that's the wrong thread, TV... :)

I wanted to like Match Point more than I did. I started Wimbledon once but never got through it. :(

I think I'm finally getting around to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo tonight. If I don't start reading Smokin' Seventeen first.

Absolutely love this flick. The two just had such perfect chemistry and it was really, really enjoyable and easy to watch. A nice break from the usual action/suspense movies I surround myself with.

Watch the Swedish trilogy, its really well done.

Wife recorded some French thriller, "With a Friend Like Harry." Not bad but unintentional comedy as well. Sadly, problem was it was on Encore Mystery so they dubbed it which made me think I was watching another Godzilla movie.

I really enjoyed 'Match Point,' but I don't know if it was under-rated. It got Allen's best reviews since 'Bullets Over Broadway' or 'Mighty Aphrodite.'

Transformers : Dark of the Moon.

Typical Bay popcorn movie. It'll make more money than probably anything else this summer - Harry Potter might make more. As a G1 purist who has tried to like the Bayformers, it's been hard but I've dealt with terrible writing, plot holes, continuity issues and hardly any respect to the toy/comic/tv show line.

The movie will probably get terrible reviews but whatever - Bay did an awesome job with the 3D. Probably the best use of it since Avatar. None of this 'converted to 3D' bullshit. Awesome shots, great use of it, amazing vantage points - I mean, it's going to get butchered by critics but it's going to make ton of freaking money and it's worth price of admission just for the visuals.

Keep in mind - I'm a big effing nerd for Transformers.

    Re: Cars 2...

But see, that's the point. Pixar has always had the better storylines, characters, etc., vs. Dreamworks. So, I was expecting a little bit better movie than what it is. Hated the obvious "wrong side of the road" joke with 'Mater. And that's just the start.

There was no real growing of the characters. It was almost all action, and not all good.

Just disappointed overall. Probably still better than most other animated stuff, I guess.
