Two actors who are a lot funnier in movies than they ever were on SNL (Wiig and Sudeikis...).

Cars 2 with the little folks.

    1) Seems they made a big effort to make Mater the star and
    2) Thought it was Pixar's version of an action film.

Kids loved it. I was a little disappointed. Didn't quite live up to previous Pixar experiences.

The King's Speech today was well done. I love historical non-fiction movies, however Hollywood-ized they can tend to be.

Another thumbs up from this corner for Horrible Bosses. Maybe not as good as the first Hangover, but definitely funny as hell and worth seeing. Hopefully it'll become a sleeper hit along the lines of The Hangover.
    Two other thoughts:
    1) Surely I'm not the only male who watched that and got more than a little aroused every time Jennifer Anniston popped onto the screen?
    2) Motherfucker Jones. That is all.

    1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Pt. 1: Took me 4 days to get through it. I'm not a big Harry Potter guy but this one seemed pretty slow to me. Plus, not really being that into Harry Potter, I didn't know who half the people were.
    2. Little Fockers: Not funny, except when Owen Wilson was on screen.
    3. Monsters: Thought the acting was good, but it was so slow.
    4. The Town: Really good, my kind of movie. Affleck does good work, especially when he's writing and/or directing.

I went into Transformers 3 with low expectations and it was as expected. The plot was terrible with so many unnecessary and pointless parts. There were too many characters who served little or no purpose. Megatron was reduced to a punkass bitch with like five minutes of screen time. I can think of many examples of awfulness, but none more than sexy Rosie Huntington-Whitely calling a lazily restrained Megatron a "bitch." How about Optimus Prime getting stuck in a few ropes for like 45 minutes of the movie? What a way to reduce the super badass good guy to nothing simply to advance pointless storylines of the Chicago scene.

I understand you have to suspend some belief with these movies, but some of the action scenes with the people were so unreal that I laughed out loud in the theater. Sam shoots a robot in the eye with a wrist gun thingy, and goes for a five-minute joyride from the thrashing machine, falls 20 feet with a guy attached to his back, and both are totally fine. Come the fuck on.

    I could go on.

EDIT: So you don't think I totally hated the movie, I did enjoy a few action scenes. The one with the robots going down the interstate, Sam's flying squirrel thing, and Optimus taking out like 10 Decepticons was fun to watch. Also, I like Shia and R H-W is so fine.

Also saw The Adjustment Bureau. Interesting concept, Damon and Blunt had great chemistry, but the ending was hurried and poorly executed. Too bad.

That was Jennifer Aniston's best film role by about a thousand miles. She's always seemed like someone who takes herself way too seriously and that movie should do wonders for her.

It's just nice to see good R-rated comedies. We have The Hangover to thank for that.

Hanna - Interesting mash-up of Road Warrior, Clockwork Orange and Run, Lola, Run. From a style standpoint, it's an amazing film. If you sit back and digest the plot, it's another story.

'Old School' was 2003. If a movie deserves credit for bringing back good R-rated comedies, I'd give it to that one.
