I wouldn't put Black Dynamite in that category. It was a satire of the genre, which is lame. If you're going to make an exploitation film, just get on with it.

No, it even missed at that.

Watched Red Riding Hood last night. Dulllllllllllllllllll. Seyfried had no chemistry with either of the male "leads" and I didn't give a shit about her romance with them. It wasn't scary and I think there was one death (off screen) in the first hour of the 1 hour, 40-minute movie.

I wanted to like this movie (despite knowing it didn't get good reviews), but it did absolutely nothing for me. No tension, no scares, no sexiness, no emotion, no nothing.

Last two were City Lights with Charlie Chaplin (one of the best movies ever made) and Trilogy Of Terror with Karen Black (very good 70s horror).

It was promoted fairly well around here back in February or whenever it came out last winter. Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried starred. Trailers looked pretty good. The rest of the movie did not.

I know Black Dynamite was a satire, and I thought it was a damn good one. Might not be fair to put it down as an exploitation movie, but the look of it and the beats it hit certainly makes it at least a footnote in the genre.

Another obscure library pickup, "Peter and Vandy," which actually got a bunch of praise at Sundance a few years ago. Stars John Ritter's kid.

Stay away from it at all costs. Unless you can't sleep.

Dull, dull, mind-numbingly dull. Eighty minutes of a young couple going from the "oh it's so awkward" stage of a relationship to bitching at each other. And not even interestingly so.

    Back from HPATDH 7.2....

Maybe cause I knew the way it would end, I was left a bit disappointed. And Voldemort's demise was not as spectacular as it should have been.

Definitely more action this time around. And it's well done IMHO.
