Captain America was my favorite when I was a lad.
I am very hestitant to see the movie. I expect it to be bad.

"Horrible Bosses" - not as good as "Hangover," better than "Hangover 2." Colin Farrell - not hot.

"In Bruges" - very enjoyable. Colin Farrell - hot.

    Saw Harry Potter this afternoon.

I think it could have been 20 minutes longer, to give a few of the favorites (Hagrid, especially) a little more run. A couple of scenes played better in the book than on the screen, especially the epilogue.

I wish I'd been at one of those screenings that showed the last two movies back-to-back. That might be interesting.

Doesn't that describe a comparison of any two characters Vaughn has played?

Agreed. I was hoping for a 3 hour show actually, I think it would have gone over just as well.

Saw it on Monday, and wish I could've seen the last two back-to-back, too.

Was anybody who appeared in all of them better than Alan Rickman? He was just terrific, right up to the end.

I actually thought it was a little draggy at the beginning, but it got better. I also expected to experience this sort of weary, "OK, let's just get the epic battle scene over with" feeling, like in Lord of the Rings, but it didn't really happen, so that was a pleasant surprise.

Wrapped up a tripleheader movie day with a couple of Nextflix choices tonight:

The Social Network: Very nice telling of the tale. "The King's Speech" probably won the Oscar by being more of a crowd-pleaser, I suspect.

Let Me In: Very disappointed in this remake of "Let the Right One In." For all the talk about how they were going to reimagine the story for American audiences, it didn't bring much of anything new to the game.

It was pretty much everything most-anyone could want.

But the movie just-previous was a time-wasting grab for the cash . . . much like the first half of The Soprano's Season Six.

  9. Watched Kill the Irishman last night.
Based on Cleveland mobster Irish Danny Greene.
Pretty good flick with Walken and fat Val Kilmer, whose character adds absolutely nothing to the movie.

Saw the Lincoln Lawyer a few nights ago and it was pretty solid. I liked the way Matthew McConaughy's character wriggled out of a seemingly impossible situation (even if the plot devices used were quite the "coincidences").

Watched Unknown with Liam Neeson last night. Kind of a Bourne Identity Light but not bad. An easy way to spend two hours. One annoying warning for anyone renting it from Redbox: There's 15 minutes of trailers and crap before the movie THAT YOU CAN'T SKIP PAST. That was infuriating because I had to restart the movie twice for various reasons.

Truth be told, I can't even remember that much about the previous one, but I would have liked to have seen it for background and continuity's sake.

Watched Horrible Bosses. Good. Probably better as a rental in a few months.
