    TOO-LATE SPOILER WARNING:

Watched a movie called Buried last Friday.

Anyone here heard of it? Ryan Reynolds plays a contractor, IIRC, in Iraq who's kidnapped and buried alive. He's buried with a cellphone, lighter and some other things. He makes a bunch of calls on the phone and eventually someone sets out to find him. Meanwhile, a bomb or something is set off above where Reynolds' character is buried, and sand starts seeping into the coffin.

The guys trying to rescue him think they've found him, only the terrorists have led them to someone else they kidnapped and buried. It was a pretty good flick.

Well, the setup seemed to be recycled from that classic two-part Tarantino-directed episode of CSI.

Buried was pretty intense. The more movies I see RR in, the better I like him. He's done a fair diversity of roles.

Saw trailers for MI4 and something called Contagion today, and I'm sold on both. Now, if we could get moving on the next Bond and the next Bourne.

  4. Watched Seraphim Falls today on AMC .. Its a western with Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan made in 2006.
    I never heard of it.
After watching it I can see why.
It started out pretty good, four guys, led by Neeson, hunting Brosnan. But the end?? No. Just it didn't work.

    Spoilers ....

Turns out Neeson, who appears to the bad guy, is the good guy. He's hunting Brosnan because as a CW Capt. he murdered Neeson's family, after the war was over.
Neeson goes through hell to get Brosnan and in the end, even after Brosnan shoots him, Neeson can't do it. Nevermid he killed on of his henchman in cold blood to get to Brosnan.

And Angelica Huston shows up in the dessert right before the big showdown -kind of representative of the devil.
Nice idea but the ending sucked.

Both are in pre-production for release next year - Bourne in the summer (starring Jeremy Renner) and Bond in the fall.

Went and saw Transformers. It was OK.

Just finished Convicted. Good flick for a low budget.

One of the best of 2010. Had it right behind "Black Swan" and ahead of "True Grit." A wonderful, wonderful film.

Yeah, gotta stick a spoiler tag on that one. Or just don't write so much about it.
