Methinks some of my movie tickets will be going to The Change-Up or Horrible Bosses.

Some of you have seen both. Which is better?

    Inception was horrible.

Both are good. If you're married, you'll like The Change-Up better, especially if you have kids.

Watching the Resident Evil movies right now. They're terrible, but entertaining.

"The American": George Clooney is great in a movie that makes up in the details what it lacks in the big things. The story is predictable, and the characters are nothing I haven't seen before. But the performances and some intriguing shots (including a cameo by evil Peter Fonda in "Once Upon a Time in the West") keep it going. It's patient, almost to the point of plodding. They could've cut at least 15 minutes and not lost much. Still, very good movie.

Ugh, that movie was so boring. They should have cut about 90 minutes out of it.

I'm a fan of old European flicks like "L'Aventura" and "The Offence," so I like movies that many consider boring. I don't mind when characters are given screen time to brush their teeth and drive a car with no pertinent action.

Come to think of it, "The American" would have made a great short, though.

Perhaps it was just wasted on you? We spent much of a two-hour trip this morning talking about it, so it worked for us.

Took the little one to see The Smurfs. Predictable and silly with a few cute moments. My daughter loved it.

DVR'd "On the Waterfront" off Turner Classic Movies a couple of days ago, and watched it for the first time this afternoon.

I don't care if Elia Kazan ratted on all his friends, that was a hell of a movie.

Planet of the Apes was fantastic. It was well written and well thought out. It basically showed realistically how our world could have been possibly taken over by apes. No gaping plot holes and the personalities of the apes were well done in cgi.

It fit well into the original canon and I could have done without one line but the other nods to the original were subtle and well done.

Oh, I had one little quibble about "apes" but I would need to give away the end to tell it. Just stick around for a minute after the credits roll, there's a big plot point worth seeing.
