Ryan Reynolds told a story on Leno when he was hyping Change-Up. For the "topless" scene with Wilde, he was nervous and sweating. He removed her top and looked down at her boobs. She had pasties on and she'd drawn smiley faces on them. He put his hands on her boobs. When the scene ended, he looked at his hands and the ink had transferred. He had smiley faces on hands.

Ok, now I REALLY wonder about your taste in movies.

With Final Destination, there's really not anything they could do that wouldn't have an impact on what happened in real life. One of them was about an accident at a racetrack. Obviously fans have been killed just like that at tracks. Same thing with the plane crash in the original, or the multi-car wreck in another. I don't think many people in Minnesota will be outraged or anything. Part of the actual allure of the movies is that they're terrifying because people do feel they're somewhat plausible - at least until "death" starts actually stalking people.

Basically any movie that isn't sci-fi or paranormal is going to be something that could offend someone who went through a similar thing in real life.

There was unfortunate timing in Minnesota in 1995. A meningitis outbreak hit Mankato, Minnesota - at the same time the movie Outbreak hit theaters. I'm guessing it didn't do real well in the Mankato theater at the time, although I saw it there. Felt like we were living dangerously. But I remember a story where the guy in charge of fighting it talked about how he wished he could have funds anywhere near that of the movie's budget. Which seemed like a weird complaint; it'd have been like someone wishing they could be treated by Rene Russo instead of their family doc.

If 30 Minutes or Less is "based" on that story, you might want to tell everyone involved in it to stop lying about it.

So, people with a large stake in the success of the movie are saying that something that could hurt the success of the movie isn't true. Consider my jaw dropped.

"Outbreak" was based on that Richard Preston NON-FICTION book, "Hotzone" about the Ebola virus, that was a fantastic read. Movie was horrible, Rene Russo or not.

Just watched "The Town". I liked it, it was well-written and the acting was good.

But I disagree with making Afflek's character a tragic hero and the girl a sympathetic pawn for him.

And an "anonymous donation" in his mother's name for an ice rink...yeah, the FBI would NEVER pick up on that one.

  12. Saw Crazy, Stupid, Love. I'll echo what's already been said here, really outstanding flick. I didn't really want to go but the g/f insisted and I'm glad I went. Surprisingly funny and very well written.
