Didn't hate it, but didn't love it. The best part of the movie was the trailer, which had me hooked and made me drive to go get it from Redbox. I hadn't heard anything about it, whatsoever, only saw the trailer. The payoff, though, was disappointing.

Then I Googled to see just how many people thought it was rigged. I'm in that group, but I'd be lying if I said it couldn't happen.

I think it happened, but the filmmakers worked backward. They drove to meet the family, filmed that, and then realized they had something. From there, they re-created the setup.

Yeah, something didn't seem right ... Oh, I know what it was, the tramp stamp on dude who is the main character.

Saw No Country for Old Men on WPIX 11 yesterday afternoon. I like this more every time I see it, especially Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh. One of the scariest movie characters ever. Classic.

Too bad Chilly Billy wasn't showing it.

I saw "Another Earth" on Friday. A very good indie film full of metaphor. The story, dialogue and acting were great. There was some over-direction with cuts, edits, angles and cropping, but I didn't hate it. The ending was quite solid, too.

Not the greatest movie ever made, but quite satisfactory, for what it is.

I don't think anything about it was 'real,' but it hooked me. The build-up got me, even though I was shaking my head, and I thought the lead was good.

Saw "Adjustment Bureau" last weekend, fairly engaging, not great but enjoyable fun. John Slattery (Mad Men) was funny as the same type of guy (martini greased delivery.)

Saw "The Devil's Double." Unreal. It's about the guy who served as the "double" for Uday Hussein, Saddam's son. This guy was certifiable. It's really violent but absolutely riveting. It could almost rate an X-rating for the violence.

Saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes today. I enjoyed it. Didn't think it was anything spectacular, especially with how much of the plot is given away in the trailers, but still a good movie with some impressive effects.
