"A Kiss Before Dying." Dillon-Young remake. I've always been a sucker for Sean Young.

I had no desire to see it based on the cast and the previews, but after so many people told me how great it was, I saw it and really, really liked it...

It was the best movie of the summer, ahead of Super 8. The rest of this summer's crop have been largely disappointing, though I haven't seen Capt. America or Green Lantern.

I think The Change-Up is my favorite movie of the summer and Apes might be a close second. Hard to compare the two though... There are also a lot of movies I have not seen (Captain America, Super 8...) yet...

Interesting ... I've heard nothing but bad things about The Change-Up. It fared horribly at the box office, too. Bad summer for Ryan Reynolds.

    Better than Horrible Bosses, too?

They're both good... Lord knows I could relate to both movies, but I thought Change-Up was funnier while Horrible Bosses went more for shock value.

    Loved both movies though...

Change-up was hysterical. It's actually very disappointing how poorly this movie has been received.

All the 'best of' talk got me thinking. My best of 2011, so far.

    1. Source Code
    2. Crazy, Stupid, Love
    3. Insidious
    4. Win Win
    5. The Help
    6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
    7. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
    8. Bridesmaids
    9. Everything Must Go
    10. Horrible Bosses
Others worth seeing: Cedar Rapids, Rango, Super 8, Paul, X-Men: First Class, Limitless, Hall Pass, Thor, Unknown, Captain America, 30 Minutes or Less
Avoid: The Green Hornet, Scream 4, The Hangover 2, Green Lantern, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Dilemma
OK if you have kids: Hop, Rio, Cars 2, Zookeeper, The Smurfs

    Obviously plenty to go ...

I thought Crazy Stupid Love was the best thing I've seen. But I don't think Win, Win should be categorized as a summer movie. It was here in the early spring.
