HC & I saw "Crazy Stupid Love" today.

Great performances by all--Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore. And an over the top by Marisa Tomei. Kevin Bacon however looks old and tired.

My only problem with the flick was the graduation scene. Wrecked the entire movie.

Wife and I HATED both Crazy, Stupid Love and Our Idiot Brother. Both really enjoyed "The Debt."

    Good movie.

Because child porn isn't funny? That's my guess.

"The Addiction." Odd little vampire movie with Lili Taylor, Christopher Walken and a strong supporting cast,

Agree with JR and others - the graduation scene was awful and cringworthy and just clanked for me. I didn't much like the whole storyline of how demonstrative the kid was in his love for the babysitter. Would a boy really go to lengths like that - in public (I'm thinking of the lunchtime stunt at school) to profess his crush? I'm not a guy, so I don't know, but I feel like risking that kind of humiliation was unrealistic.

Wife and I went to see "The Help" this weekend and found it to be an accurate portrayal, from all I've learned thru the years, of our state of Mississippi in the early to mid-1960s. (An interesting aside: I recorded the Ole Miss/BYU game while we were away and turned off my cell, so after we ate Italian and finally got home, I simply turned on the TV and picked up where I left off when we left the house at 3:30..."The Help" mentions Ole Miss a few times)

    Carry on

This weekend I watched two movies for the first time with my fiance:

John Carpenter's "The Thing" and "Assault on Precinct 13." I loved both of them. Really liked the cliff hanger type endings of the films, despite being ticked off by them at the same time. Plus, you can't beat the music in those. So great.

Also watched Gremlins last night. Love that movie.

The original Assault on Precinct 13 had a hot little number among those trapped inside the precinct building.
Can't remember her name but very appealing in a mid-to-late 1960s hot-actress sort of way.
She had a Sharon Tate (RIP) sort of hotness ...
