Waited this long to see The Fighter . . . should have waited longer, like forever.

Marky didn't suck, but otherwise? Hate Bale more than ever (the intervals when he was channeling
Brando were expecially obnoxious), but otherwise . . . who could care about these creeps?

    And all the padding. Yikes.

    Next.

Watched Bridesmaids at 1 a.m. I liked it, but it wasn't LOL hilarious like everyone made it sound. Plus, another movie where EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IS UNLIKEABLE. WTF?

Oops, except Rhodes. Whom I adored. But every female was worthless.

    The Fighter was great.

Anything but original, obvious, too long, and the characters? Any sane person would want to strangle
most of them. You could kill the mother with a machete in broad daylight, and no jury would convict you.

    Other than that?

Difference of opinion makes horse races . . .

Cinderella Man was fatally flawed, on multiple levels, and it was five times the movie The Fighter was.

Scorcese and DeNiro retired the trophy. Hollywood's been largely helpless regarding boxing, since.

The Mickey Rourke wrestling picture was miles better.

God, Hollywood's sad, and the exceptions are getting rarer by the year.

"Contagion" - liked it a lot. Have been very conscious of touching pretty much anything since I walked out of the theater a few hours ago.

I agree with an above poster in that I thought it was emotionally detached. But, I had to stifle a cough during the movie, because I didn't want everyone in the theater to flee on my account.

I agree with all of this. What a fantastic movie. I think it will get some Academy love.

I am looking forward to seeing this. Jeff Pearlman, on his blog, said that it's a movie only critics can love and that if they say they like it, they must be lying. Guess he hated it. I definitely want to see what I think. I think Gosling is an amazing talent, ever since "Half Nelson."

I've seen a ton of movies in theaters this year and LOVED "Super 8" and "X-Men: First Class." But those were movies. "Drive" was a film. I hope that makes sense. It was the best film I've seen in theaters since "Black Swan" last December.

I've had "Black Swan" sitting on top of my entertainment center for like three weeks. I'm a total wuss. I'm scared to watch it!

    Why's that?

No, I really liked "The Wrestler" and "Pi."

I hated "Inception" because there was too much talky exposition and the plot was unnecessarily complicated. I thought the characters were poorly imagined.

Why do you think that "Inception" and "Black Swan" are interrelated? Strong visuals?
