Wake in Fright - 1971 Australian film about an English schoolteacher in the Outback who is on Christmas break. He's supposed to go to Sydney to see his girl, but ends up in some shithole called Bundanyabba. The level of debauchery is off the charts. The locals drink, drink and drink some more. This cannot be understated. As soon as a character is finished with a beer, they're opening another. And they demand that anyone that is with them do the same. This goes on for roughly the entire film. The alcohol induced madness includes a drive-by kangaroo hunt which might as well be the basis for many of the chase scenes in the later Mad Max movies. Way better than the overly praised Walkabout from that same time period.

    'The Stones in Exile'
I love the Stones and enjoyed the movie, but I had just watched the George Harrison bit on HBO. The Stones doc just couldn't hold up in comparison.

Of course, they are very different in scope and intent.

I fast-forwarded through Human Centipede...only because I needed to say I saw it (sort of).

I refuse to EVER see Part II

Seems to me that you saw plenty of No. 2.

I have seen him in We Are Marshall (very good role), 8 Mile, Notorious and a really odd Spike Lee film called She Hate Me.

I have a feeling he is gonna be a pretty big star.

    And Emily Blunt is hot.

I didn't realize Mackie was in Eagle Eye (which I saw). And yes, Blunt is fantastic.

Drive - Slow, moody and 80s synth. Hipsters eat this shit up. I'd rather see more driving scenes. And no matter how many times I see Carey Mulligan in a movie, I still think she's Katie Holmes.

It's October, so it's horror movie time. And one horror of a movie is "Dracula 2000." Oh my.

    "No Strings Attached."

    SPOILER

Reminded me a lot of "(500) Days of Summer" except without the indie vibe and with a happy ending.
