    That's the goddess Kate Upton.

Not even she can save that movie.

I will say, though, the guy from MadTV is a perfect Curly. It's still going to be a steaming cinematic shitpile, but he definitely looks the part.

It needs the George C. Scott treatment:

I've seen this no less than 10 times and it always slays me. I'd love to see a Three Stooges mashup.

Did yall notice the like/dislike votes of the Three Stooges trailer in above link? Lotta red.

    "Never Let Me Go."

I thought it was 99 percent remarkable, and it should go on just about every decade's best list when that time arrives.

On the down side - the other 1 percent, so to speak - it is another movie where the director feels the need to have a character spend the last scene telling us exactly what it all meant. I got it, and so will you, so I didn't understand why Carey Mulligan had to actually say it right before the closing credits rolled.

    Directors: We are not stupid.

    That's a small gripe, though.

    MILD SPOILER REGARDING THEMES

    Bring kleenex.

Also, I think other than the whole idea that we all want more time, I think there was also a theme of not letting any excuse get in the way of pursuing true love, because every second counts. The them of life being about time connecting with other people is present in a lot of films and literature - two off the top of my head are the "Into the Wild" movie and Tom Perrotta's most recent novel. But it is exceedingly well done here. Gut-wrenching.

This is a movie that will stay with you long after you finish it.

"Stupid Crazy Love" not bad. Would watch again. Pus, Emma. Stone.

"Friends with Benefits" - not sure if I liked this or "No Strings Attached" more. Some awkward moments. Regardless, some laughs, typical romcom.

    Beginners.

Very sweet movie with Ewan MacGregor and Donald Plummer and a drop-dead beautiful French gal.

Low-key, low-fi, not much happens, but entertaining none the less.

Since about 9:30 last night I've been on a movie kick.

The Descendants - It's not often you see no action, no thrills, no mystery and little suspense, but a movie that still delivers. This was the case. It was a nice dramedy that felt very real as far as plot and characters. Clooney's presence was magnetizing and I think he could take home the statue for best actor.

Zombieland - I've seen it a few times now and it's a unique take on the zombie apocalypse. I'm a fan. Emma Stone has never looked better.

Road To Perdition - About 10 years behind on this one, but I really liked it. A nice period piece that involves mobsters, but it's more about family and loyalty. A very poetic ending.

Food, Inc. - I haven't seen a lot of major documentaries so I'm not sure how qualified I am to say this, but this is the best one I've seen. It's fascinating, disturbing and revolting all at once. It'll make you think about everything you eat and buy. Every food consumer should watch it.

Brick - Joseph Gordon-Levitt was the only thing about this movie that really did anything for me. The plot was convoluted and I think it was muddied by the 40s detective noir dialogue set in a present day high school. It was a good idea, but like fitting a square peg into a round hole. It didn't really work for me.

Saturday Movie Day now continues at the Dub residence......
