As usual, the Onion hits it out of the park. And Winona is one year older than me, so as the kids say ... she can be my "cougar" anytime! :D

I don't get the love for Winona Ryder. She's not ugly, but ... meh.

This will sound lame, but for me, she had Hollywood actress good looks combined with an outsider's personality. And it wasn't just the characters she played ... her parents were hippies and (if memory serves) she grew up in a commune. Those of us who also were young kids in the 1970s could relate to that background (even if our parents were a little more "straight").

Plus, she (still) has the most gorgeous eyes of any actress in the 1990s, when I still attended movies regularly.

Despite all this, "Reality Bites" still sucks.

You're all over it, Mr. C.

    So to speak ... ;)

I've always had a crush on Janeane Garofalo and Winona Ryder.

There might not be an actress who I have ever loathed as much as I loathe Garofalo.

When I think about her, I touch myself.

    Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

What a thrill ride. My palms were literally sweating during some of the sequences. Mike Bay, et al, might want to check this out: this is how you make a popcorn movie.

Margin Call - Pretty damn good movie on the Wall Street meltdown. Well told, good characters. It makes it a lot easier to figure out how everything went down in 08 and doesn't just paint everyone with the same brush.
Mostly though - it had the same feel of Paul Greengrass's United 93. Very tense for the entire film.

The Descendants. What a pitch-perfect film. So many great character moments, handled greatly, as always, by Alexander Payne. Simply a must-see.

I feel the same way about Garofalo.

I always liked her, she looked hot on the last season of West Wing.

    "Midnight in Paris."

Delightful. English major porn. Some of the main storylines were pretty predictable once it got going, but I still wasn't bored for a second.

    SPOILER

All of that said, his find of Adriana's diary with him mentioned in it in some sidewalk kiosk was an almost unforgivable plot contrivance.
