    13-year-olds riding bikes???? It's like a shot-for-shot remake of E.T.!!!

I can understand if you didn't like the movie (I thought it was fantastic, in part, because it felt like a Spielberg-in-his-prime adventure flick), but this is being awfully nitpicky. They rode bicycles in "The Goonies" too. It's generally the preferred mode of transportation for adolescents.

I don't know, I thought it was an enjoyable summer popcorn flick.

I watched "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" again last night (I saw it last summer, got it on Blu-ray for Christmas) and it really was a perfect prequel. Unlike the stupid continuity errors of prequels such as the new Star Wars movies (Qui Gon Jin was Obi Wan's master, not Yoda? WTF?), if there were any continuity errors between this film and the originals, I didn't notice.

I thought it did a great job showing how apes could have taken over the planet from humans. They didn't win a war against us, nor did we somehow evolve back into apes. I thought the way it was portrayed was almost the only way it could have happened that would have made perfect sense.

And I wouldn't give Andy Serkis an Academy Award for the performance as Caeser because the animators had a lot to do with it, but it was still a damned impressive job on his part.

"They rode around on bikes for Christ's sake" is classic 93D. Good stuff.

A cross between E.T. and Cloverfield. Jesus, why didn't I read that before now?

Look, it's a group setting, and people should be considerate of those around them. Lots of people get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing the trailers for upcoming movies, and it's part of the overall movie experience. If you can't be quiet for that, then you should stay home. And you better not get between me and my M&Ms commercial. :D

And of course they threw one of the most enjoyable parts of the movie after the credits. Credits signal the ending of the movie. Fuck, does that piss me off as well.

And after watching the above movie, remember that these kids were fighting a Cloverfield-like monster in this movie.

The zombie movie was pretty frickin' awesome, but I'm glad they ran it during the credits. Showing six or seven minutes of that during the movie would have derailed the narrative and completely interrupted the pace of the film. I don't see any choice but to run it during the credits.

Yeah, I didn't see much point in running it during main part of the film. Reward those (read: me) who stay around to see the credits.

I cannot fathom how someone could have watched "Super 8" and thought it deserved an R-rating.

The scary alien was about as frightening as my 13-year-old yellow lab.

Kids were in the movie, yes. That doesn't make it a "kids movie." I had this same battle with someone over "Rango."

    "It's a cartoon! It's for kids!"

You run it right before the final credits.

Right after the water tower scene.
