Hulk movies are good when Banner is green. I really liked Ang Lee's (that was the director, right?) editing for the Eric Bana Hulk.

Saw "Incredibly Close, etc." Pretty much dreck although I loved seeing the kid act. He'll be something in a few years. Bullock was terrible. Also watched "Anonymous." Much better than I thought. If you love Shakespeare, it's a very fun film.

What does that leave? 20 minutes? Probably not even that.

One of many reasons Incredible was so much better, with climactic fight being at the top of the list. What the heck was going on at the end of Ang Lee's version, anyway? It's a Hulk movie. Let the big green guy smash stuff.

Out of your list, Bridesmaids is the most likely. Chances for the rest are slim to none, and slim just left town.

  5. The Debt ...

Liked the last 30 minutes (Jesus, about time!!) .. Really took a long time (too long) on the lot of the other stuff.
I think the interpersonal relationships could have been explained a lot quicker.

    All three were nuts.

It wasn't bad, but it could have been much better.

    Spoiler

What's up with Rachel? She gets rejected by one and then hops into bed with the other literally an hour later? Come on, really?

It also pissed me off to no end she gets whipped again by a 80-year-old Nazi. WTF? Really? I get she's 60, but come on! The Nazi is in 80s.

Don't remind me. It's my annual 12:30 AM call time so that me and half of the news industry in Hollywood can sit around for 4 hours doing jack shit waiting on the 5:30 announcement. Bastards.

    Re: Bridesmaids.

The actress that plays in Mike and Molly is really getting hyped for a nod for Best Supporting Actress for her work in that.

Are you talking Best Picture? If so, I don't see that for any of them. Although, I thought Drive was fantastic.

I'd love for Ides of March to get in, but I'm sure it's just on the outside.

Haven't seen The Artist and don't really want to, but I'd guess that's your Best Picture winner. But Descendants wouldn't be an upset.

I am, and I'm confident that it will. Remember that the Best Picture field can include up to 10 nominees.

The disconnect between the Academy and critics on some films is staggering. Few critics would put "The Help" on their year's Top 10 list. Some didn't like it at all, and offered valid reasons. But it's considered a shoo-in. On the other hand, movies like "A Separation" and "Take Shelter" were almost universally loved by critics, but have almost no chance at a Best Picture nomination.
