    We'll never know.

I like nice little movies. There aren't enough of them, for adults.

We watched Moneyball this weekend. While I liked the movie, I'm surprised it earned an Oscar nomination. Like a lot of movies, it was probably 15-20 minutes too long.

I'm also surprised Pitt and Hill were both nominated.

On another note, I just removed Avatar from my Netflix queue after deciding not to record it during this weekend's free HBO on Directv.

  3. Has anyone seen Facing Ali?

I saw previews for it last night before watching Warrior, which I enjoyed.

Ali looks pretty interesting, but is there anything new covered?

Tried watching "Gable and Lombard," but it was dreck. Brolin was surprisingly good as Gable, but Clayburgh was horrible as Lombard. And it was all wrong, timeline-wise. But whatever.

Moving on to "Nothing Sacred" starring the real Lombard.

Watched Gangs of New York again last night.

Still a damn fine piece of work. DDL is phenomenal.

We watched '50/50' a couple of nights ago. I expected to despise it but didn't.
    However, I hated the ending.
The movie should have ended with him being admitted for surgery.

That would be Anna Kendrick, who was also great in Up in the Air with Clooney.

Just saw "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy." It's definitely not a Best Picture-winner, but it's a good way to spend two hours. My main quip is that I really didn't care about the central plot. But, then again, these movies really are all the same, aren't they? I mean, I could have watched "Spy Game" and quenched my thirst for high-level intrigue, but I chose this movie because it had different characters, and that was worth the 10 bucks.

I think you are referring to me. All I meant was that it had an E.T.-like vibe to it, but I didn't enjoy Super 8 as much as E.T.

Has anyone seen Midnight in Paris? I'm about to boot it up...

Saw "Man on a Ledge." Pretty good thriller.

"One For The Money." Not great, not bad. I'd tend to think mediocre. I have always liked Heigl, back to when she was 17 and starred with the french guy who was her father and pretended to be her boyfriend so she could make some dude jealous.
I tend to not care for the Italian stallion Jersey accents, that was pretty poor.
My wife was very disappointed in the casting of Morelli, who should have been a hunky Italian with wavy black hair, not a burr-headed, blue-eyed Irishman. She was satisfied with the guy who played Ranger.
It's just a movie, nothing special.
