Believe it or not, I will be going to see the new 'Silent Hill' movie. First one was a hysterical first date six years ago.
I will also see the new 'Paranormal Activity' because I liked the gags in the third one.

From the 25 minutes I saw of it, there's a remake of Steel Magnolias on Lifetime, updated by however many years and featuring an all African-American cast.

    Did killer ratings. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/lifetime-steel-magnolias-ratings-377145

From what I saw, unusually faithful to the original. I never found the original that compelling, so doubt I spend two hours on the same premise.

I was just stunned that Tyler Perry didn't turn up.

Saw Rock of Ages on demand last night. Generally fun, but if you're going to do this movie, the vocals have to knock it out of the park. Tom Cruise in particular did not. Played Stacey Jaxx well, and he can carry a tune, but it just wasn't strong enough to qualify as a rock star. Vocally, Mark Wahlberg would have been much better. But then, he's a mediocre actor.

Yeah, I saw it... Didn't hate it, but it was a little strange...

    Actually Wahlberg can't sing either.

Fair enough. I was kind of under the assumption he did the singing in Rock Sta, but apparently not. Miljenko Matijevic anyone? Wonder if he can act ...

I just got back from a preview screening of "Smashed." It's about drinking. And sex. And families. And drinking. And elementary school. And drinking.

"Cabin in the Woods." Due to reviews, had some expectations. Just too convoluted; guess I'd rather it have been simpler.
